The film Peppa Celebrates Chinese New Year hit big screens on February 5th, 2019. It is the first day of Chinese New Year and the first day of the Chinese zodiac's Year of the Pig.

The film repeats the question "Who is Peppa? "and tells a touching story about Chinese families. There was an old man named Li Yubao living in the countryside. At first, he called his grandson to ask what gifts he wanted for the Spring Festival. But he could hear nothing but the word "Peppa "due to the poor mobile signal (信号 ).So, the man began an interesting Journey to discover who Peppa was. His grandson was surprised that the "Peppa ".事实上,他凭借自己的想法创造出了一个“佩奇” At the end of the story. the man found out Peppa was a cartoon character and enjoyed the film with the whole family during the holiday season.

The film encourages people working outside to come back home often and try to stay with family members to spend a happy and warm Spring Festival holiday. "After watching the movie, I want to go to my hometown at once.我几乎有一年没看到我的家人了。And I miss them very much, "said Sina Weibo user Yu Xiaojia.

四、阅读理解 (共4题,共 20分)
  • 24、   I woke up with drool (口水) on my pillow this morning. I wouldn't have minded except it wasn't mine. The alarm clock rang, and I reached over to turn it off. As I laid my face back down on the pillow, I felt the wet, slimy (黏滑的) drool on my pillow case. I opened my eyes and saw a smiling, panting (喘气的), furry face gazing down at me. I tried to get up, but she was too fast. My face was suddenly covered in kisses with one going straight up my nose and another right in my ear. I laughed, reached out and picked up the eight-pound love machine and held her away from my dripping (湿透的) face. It was just another morning in a life with dogs.

Why do we welcome them into our homes and our hearts? We know that we are most likely going to outlive them and have our hearts broken when they age quickly and pass away after ten to fifteen years. We know that there will be vet (兽医) bills, flea baths and enough fur to make a vacuum cleaner cry. We know that our ears will ring from the barking, that we will be picking up poop (大便) every single day and that we will never get to finish a full sandwich again.

Yet, when we are feeling down or blue, there will always be a soft head on our lap needing to be pet. When we get home after a long day's work, there will be a happy face at the door waiting for us. Our lives will be full of balls to throw, bellies to scratch, and love and loyalty that will warm our hearts and uplift our souls.

For thousands of years, dogs have been our best friends. They remain one of the greatest gifts life has ever given us. Even if they can't love us for the rest of our lives, they will always love us for all of theirs.

1How does the author probably feel about his dog every morning?

    A.Awful. B.Impatient. C.Joyful. D.Surprised.

2What figure of speech (修辞手法) is used for the underlined sentence in Paragraph 2?

    A.Irony. (反语) B.Contrast. C.Repetition. D.Personification.

3The purpose of Paragraph 2 is to ________.

A.explore why we love dogs B.show the trouble dogs can bring

C.give examples of dogs' bad behavior D.list reasons why some people avoid dogs

4What does the last sentence of this article mean?

A.Dogs are devoted to their owners. B.Dogs' owners outlive them.

C.Life is never perfect. D.Dogs are beneficial.

5The writer wrote this article mainly to ________.

A.give the advantages and disadvantages of raising dogs

B.share how much love his dog has brought him

C.say that keeping a dog is worth all the trouble

    D.analyze the impact of a dog's company

  • 25、   A young man is walking in the desert and comes across some clear water. He fills his canteen so he can bring some back to his teacher.

After a four-day journey he presents the water to an old man. The old man takes a long drink, smiles warmly and thanks his student for the water. The young man returns to his village with a happy heart.

Later, the teacher lets another student taste the water. He spits( ) it out, saying it is awful. It’s no longer fresh because of the old leather(皮革的) canteen.

The student asks the teacher : “Master, the water is terrible. Why did you pretend to like it?” The teacher replies: “ You only tasted the water. I tasted the gift. The water was an act of loving-kindness and nothing could be sweeter.”

Now we understand this lesson best when we receive gifts of love from others. Whether it’s a book or a card, the natural and proper response(反应) is appreciation(欣赏)and expressed thankfulness because we love the idea within the gift.

Gratitude(感恩) doesn’t always come naturally. Unfortunately, many people value only the thing given, rather than the feeling embodies( 体现) in it. We should remind ourselves and teach our children about the beauty of feelings and expression of gratitude. After all, gifts from the heart are really gifts of the heart.

    根据短文内容判断正误,正确的填 “A”,错误的填 “B”

1The young man returns to his village with a happy heart, because the old man thinks the water sweeter

2The teacher lets another student taste the water. He spits and says it is awful.

3In fact, the water in the leather canteen is too fresh.

4Gratitude doesn’t always come naturally. Unfortunately, many people value only the thing which they give others.

5The passage tells us in our life, the gifts from the heart are really the gifts of the heart.

  • 26、New Technology Revolutionizes(变革) Learning

More and more people believe that technologies are great for learning. Today, such teaching tools as iPads are used in a lot of courses, including language, history and science.

Many teachers are supporters of using iPads in language learning. They say that students now have much more time for discussion in the classroom. Instead of spending valuable class time listening to texts or watching teaching videos, students can do this on their own and come to class prepared for discussion.

The teachers also say that iPads allow students to learn at their own pace. Some students might listen to a dialogue only once and understand it, so they can save time for doing other things. Other students, however, might need to listen to the same dialogue again and again to understand it. Using iPads is especially helpful to students who are learning a language at different paces.

The students who are using the new tool in some courses are also happy. They believe that using iPads is a more enjoyable way to learn (such as listening to stories and watching movies). The class has become much more interesting and creative.

There are other advantages for students. By using iPads, they can pay more attention to the material and learn more. Teaching notes are stored in their iPads and are easy to find .Some students spend more time studying now. “I can listen to my language material or watch teaching videos on the bus, instead of having to wait until I get home,” a student explained.

Many adults complain that technologies such as iPads are doing harm to students. They worry that students might use iPads to download teaching notes and use them to cheat during exams. Some believe that iPads may separate students from each other. If a student spends more time watching videos on an iPad, he will have fewer opportunities to have face-to-face communication with others.

However, technologies are already a part of most students’ day-to-day lives. As for cheating, teachers can ask students to hand in their iPads when they take exams. Education needs to make changes with the times as technology is playing an important part. We should look forward to a wonderful future when iPads and other technologies can add a lot to the classroom.
