24、   Once upon a time, there was a family with 18 children living in a village. Two of the children, both boys, loved painting very much, but the family was so poor that it was impossible to send both of them to study at art school at the same time.

After many discussions, the two boys finally worked out a plan. They would toss(抛) a coin. 27、New York State has passed the USA’s first state law banning（禁止）motorists talking on cell phones. The ban will begin on November 1, although drivers caught using cell phones will be given only warnings during the first month.
