27、Many friendships go through tough times, but a difficult fight may leave your relationship beyond repair. However, if you really care about this person, it will be worth the effort to fix a broken friendship. 【1】
Be the first one to reach out. If you aren’t talking to each other, someone will have to make the first move. Let it be you this time! 【2】 You need to try a few different ways to reach them.
【3】 Explain what you feel is the problem and be honest about it. Then ask them to do the same. Really listen and don’t cut in. This way, you both get to tell your side of the story and get everything out on the table.
Apologize (道歉) to them and accept their apology. Even if you didn’t do anything and you believe the situation is their fault, opening with an apology sets the tone. You could say, “I’m really sorry that things have gotten to this point. 【4】” If you did something wrong, apologize to them frankly. If they apologize to you, accept their apology kindly.
Take things slowly. If you and your best friend had a major falling out, hanging out every day after school as you used to do probably isn’t the healthiest way to rebuild things. 【5】
This will give you both time to heal and rebuild your friendship together.
A.Communicate about the problem honestly and openly.
B.It shows that you’re serious about settling things.
C.Examine the way you treat each other.

G.Thus, you should stop making an argument and trust your friend.
28、Researchers have long imagined small flying robots dealing with difficult tasks. However, fitting the heavy electronics into the robot has been challenging. Now, there is hope, thanks to RoboBee X-Wing — the world’s lightest flying machine that can fly without being equipped (配备) with a power source.
Made public by Harvard researchers on June 26, 2019, the robot only weights 259 milligrams and has a wingspan of 3.5 centimeters. Its four tiny wings, which can flap (振翅) up to 170 times a second, are controlled by motors that work when the current passes through them. Six small solar cells, fitted above the wings to prevent them influencing the flight, provide the power.
To test its flying ability, the team, led by postdoctoral fellow Noah Jafferis and PhD student Elizabeth Helbling, exposed (显露) the robot’s solar cells to a combination of halogen and LED lighting. To their joy, the robot’s wings began to flap, and it rose, lasting about half a second. Though the robot lost its flight ability as soon as the power source was turned off, its short flight was regarded as a hug milestone for the future of tiny flying robots.
However, though the robot is a step in the right direction, RoboBee X-Wing is far from perfect. It requires light three times brighter than the sun to operate. In addition, RoboBee X-Wing is not equipped to resist even a slight wind, let alone the strong one it is likely to meet as it goes about performing important tasks. But Jafferis and Helbling, who published their research in the journal Nature, are not not downcast. The team is already working on a new and improved robot — one that is 25 percent bigger and needs light just 1.5 times brighter than the sun to work.
【1】What has been the challenger for flying robots?
A.Its big size.
B.Its shape.
C.Its heavy weight.
D.Its power supply.
【2】What is the third paragraph mainly about?
A.The experiment on RoboBee X-Wing.
B.The improvement on RoboBee X-Wing.
C.The disadvantage of RoboBee X-Wing.
D.The flying ability of RoboBee X-Wing.
【3】What does the underlined word “downcast” probably mean?
A.Frustrated.
B.Frightened.
C.Surprised.
D.Satisfied.
【4】Where is this text most likely from?
A.A guidebook.
B.A science magazine.
C.A research paper.
D.An advertisement.
29、Why do people travel? Well, many people travel because they want to see other countries and visit places that are famous, interesting or beautiful. People also travel to meet new friends, to try new kind of food, to experience life in other parts of the world or simply to get away from cold weather. Yet there are other reasons why people travel. Many of today’s travelers are looking for an unusual experience and adventure travel is becoming more and more popular. Here is a quick look at two popular activities: hiking and rafting.
HIKING
Hiking is a great way to travel. You will get close to nature and take exercise at the same time. Hiking is easy to do and doesn’t have to be very expensive. You can hike close to home or travel to other places. The basic equipment you need for hiking is simple: good shoes, clothes and a backpack. Hiking is fun and exciting, but you shouldn’t forget safety. Here are some basic tips for successful hiking: 1. Don’t hike alone. 2. Tell someone where you are going; 3. Bring water and a good map; 4. Watch out for dangers, such as spiders, snakes, or poisonous plants; 5. Wear a hat to protect yourself from the sun; 6.Bring a mobile phone if you have one.
RAFTING
Another exciting adventure is rafting. A raft is a small boat that you can use to paddle down rivers and streams. Rafting is a good way to experience nature. If you want a normal rafting trip, choose a quiet stream or river that is wide and has few trees and other dangers. The name “whitewater” comes from the fact that the water in these streams and rivers looks white when it moves quickly.
As with hiking, you should always think about your safety and wear good clothes. You also need to learn the basic skills of rafting, such as how to handle the raft, how to paddle and how to get in and out of the raft. You should not go rafting unless you know how to swim, and you should always wear a life jacket.
