  • 1、   Da Mao(大毛) and Er Shun(二顺) are two giant pandas (大熊猫) that have made the Calgary Zoo in Canada their home since 2018. They were expected to live there until 2023. 64. However, they will come back to China earlier than expected.

The zoo announced the news on May 12, saying the decision was made due to COVID-19 travel restrictions (限制). The restrictions have made it more challenging for the zoo to get bamboo for the pandas to eat, Global News reported.

    65. According to the zoo, 99 percent of a giant panda's diet (饮食) is made up of fresh bamboo. Each adult giant panda eats around 40 kg of bamboo a day.

“We believe the best and safest place for Er Shun and Da Mao to be during these challenging times is where bamboo is easy to get,” said Dr CI e ment Lanthier, president of the Calgary Zoo.

  • 26、Rubbish sorting (分类) probably doesn't sound like much fun. But there is a new mobile game that may change your opinion about it, and you might even learn something while you play it-Meet Sortee.

Meet Sortee is a puzzle game developed by Flow Studio, a UK company. It makes you think deeply about everyday objects and their meanings.

The rule of the game is quite simple. Two bins are placed on either side of the screen. Each of the bins has a label (标签) next to it and the label explains what it is for. When an object, such as a car or an apple, appears on the screen, you need to decide which bin it should be sorted into and then send it there by moving your finger.

The game seems easy enough at first. But as you move on to more levels, it gets harder. The number of bins increases to three or four and the time given gets shorter. You need to think and move faster. That can be really difficult.

There are 400 0bjects in total and more than 100 bins in the game.  The more objects you correctly sort, the more game coins you can get It's a bit like working in a rubbish recycling center,  but it has no bad smell.

You can download the free game from Apple's app store (苹果软件下载中心),  but it only lets you play the first few levels. If you want to open the next 40 levels, you need to pay 6 yuan for the full game.

【1】The passage is probably taken from __ __.

    A. a postcard B. a newspaper C. a comic book   D. a novel

【1】Which of the following can we infer (推断) from the passage?

    A. You can play the full game for free.

    B. You can play the full game easily.

    C. There are only 2 bins in each level.

    D. There are over 40 levels in the game.

【1】 What's the best title of the passage?

    A. A mobile game.     B. Rubbish sorting.

    C. Apple's app store.   D. A recycling center.

  • 27、   As the host city of the next Winter Games, Beijing held a wonderful eight minute show at the closing ceremony of the 2018 PyeongChang (韩国平昌) Winter Olympics on Sunday, sending a warm invitation to the whole world.

The show was directed by Zhang Yimou, a famous Chinese director who was also responsible for the eight minute summer handover (交接) in Athens in 2004 as well as the opening and closing ceremonies in Beijing in 2008 that had a big success in the world.

Unlike Athens which focused on showing Chinese history with traditional culture like red lantern and jasmine (茉莉花), “Beijing 8 Minutes” gave special importance to the Chinese people’s sincere welcome to the world by using modern technology.

Leading the team were two dancers in costumes of panda puppets that are the world’s largest but the lightest at the same time, each weighing only about 10 kilograms. To reduce the pressure on the two dancers, researchers had tried hundreds of different materials until ending up with high technology ones.

During the whole performance, the dancers and robots both wore LED lights on them that could be fit for the cold weather at PyeongChang Olympic Stadium without the risks of breaking.

The costumes were also made with a kind of special material to keep the dancers warm. Performers danced with 24 intelligent robots standing for Beijing hosting the 24th Winter Olympics. They showed scenes of sports such as skating and skiing.

Pictures were projected to the icy floor while dancers skated across it, making a sense of augmented reality (增强现实). A number of moving screens in the middle of the field were also controlled by artificial intelligence(人工智能).

1________will host the 24th Winter Olympics.

    A.Pyeong Chang B.Athens C.Tokyo D.Beijing

D.To carry forward the spirit of sports.
