22、 Last month I took part in(参加) an underwater research project in an area of the Gulf of Mexico (墨西哥湾) called the Flower Gardens. A team of researchers (研究者) were trying to learn more about the fish living in this part of the sea.
The team used a piece of underwater equipment (设备) called ROV to collect information. This underwater equipment is called a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). The ROV could tell people the water temperature and how deep it is. It also had a camera that sent videos back to the boat. It was controlled by a computer on the boat, and I was allowed to use it a few times.
However, the thing I enjoyed most was diving (潜水) into the water. At first, I was quite frightened —mainly because I couldn’t see any land. But as soon as I jumped into the water, I wasn’t afraid anymore. It was amazing to see the colorful fish swimming around and I could see all the ways to the Flower Gardens.

23、
When you hear "single-use (一次性使用)", you might think of something like chopsticks (筷 子) from fast food restaurants. You use them once, throw them away and forget about them. But when we forget about them, we also forget that we're creating waste.
"Single-use" was chosen as Collins Dictionary's "Word of the Year" for 2018. The idea of single-use is not just about real objects that we can touch or see. It also includes the ways that we communicate.
On social media (社交媒体), we see picture, news and articles everywhere. We look, laugh and keep scrolling (滚屏). We never look twice. This is called single-use media. It's all about sharing the small things of our lives. For example, I know what restaurant all of my friends went to last night. However, I don't know their deepest thoughts and feelings about serious problems. I don't even know what their dinner tasted like. I look at their picture and give them a "Like". Then I "throw it away" and keep scrolling.
Social media nowadays make it very easy for us to forget what we have lost. Before we use social media and send messages on the phone, we communicated by talking. We had to remember or write down important things. Many people also communicated by writing letters, which took time and energy. They had to think carefully about each sentence. People treasured (珍惜) and kept letters for years. A letter was serious. It's a shared piece of the writer's spirit.
On social media, we treat our friends and family like cheap chopsticks. It's simple and efficient (有效率的) in use, but we don't spend time sharing little pieces of our thoughts and feelings any more.

A.Half people visit an internet-famous restaurant only once.
B.Students read the books again and again to write a book report.

【4】According to paragraph four, we have lost ________ after social media becomes popular.
A.the ability to talk with others
B.the possibility to send messages
C.the real communication with thoughts and feelings
【5】What can you infer from the end of the passage?
A.We should treasure our friends and family by telling them how we think and feel.
B.Friends are like chopsticks, and we should use them only when we need them.
