21、 Volunteers are probably some of the most overlooked(被忽视的) people. But no activities can carry on smoothly without hardworking volunteers. Last month, I volunteered at the Color Run in Melbourne, Australia. Although I didn’t have so much fun as the runners, I still learned a valuable lesson.
My job was to give a high-five(击掌) to every runner at the finish line. At the beginning, I saw it as a simple task. When the first runner passed, I reached out my hands and shouted “Good job!” excitedly. However, as more and more people crossed the finish line and clapped their hands with mine, my arms got sore. 22、 As a volunteer teacher, I traveled a long way to a small village school in Longzhou, Guangxi. On my way there, I thought about the village, the school, and the children there However, I felt sad when I arrived there. It wasn’t what I expected. It didn’t look like a school at all!
