1、语篇翻译 阅读下面的短文,将划线部分译成英文或中文。
1. A Chinese man called Cai Lun invented paper about 2 ,000 years ago. He made it from wood. He took the wood from trees and made it into paper. He then put these pieces of paper together and made them into a book.
Now paper still comes from trees. We use a lot of paper every day. If we keep on wasting paper, there will not be any trees left on the earth. If there are no trees, there will be no paper. Every day, people throw away about 2,800 tons of paper in our city. It takes 17 trees to make one ton of paper. This means that we are cutting nearly 48,000 trees every day. Since it takes more than 10 years for a tree to grow, we must start using less paper from now on.2. If we don't, we will not have enough time to grow more trees.
So how can we save paper? 3. Some people suggest we should use both sides of every piece of paper. We can also choose drinks in bottles instead of those in paper. We can also use cotton handkerchiefs(手帕) and not paper ones.4. 当我们逛街时,我们可以使用更少的纸袋子。If the shop assistant gives use paper bag, we can save it and reuse it later.
Everyone can help to save paper. If we all think carefully, we can help protect trees. 5. 让我们现在采取行动节约用纸。

Everyone knows that it’s hard to drink in space because of the low gravity, but Chinese astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong showed us how they drank tea on a TV show during the month-long trip in Shenzhou XI spaceship last year. They used a specially made tea cup and a special Pu’er cream to drink tea while standing upside down.
The Pu’er tea cream they drank is produced in Yunnan province, which is known for its Pu’er tea industry.
“Drinking hot tea is harder,” said Jing Haipeng. “The difficult part of drinking tea in space is that there should not be anything left after the tea dissolves (溶解) in water, also, the solubility(溶解度)of the tea should be low since water in space can only be warmed to 60 degrees at most.”
The tea cream the astronauts drank is produced by Gongrunxiang Tea Industry Corp in Kunming. Zhang Guanghui, manager of Gongrunxiang, said that the company tries to produce a tea cream that’s a safe, healthy tea product. Tea products are often reported to be polluted by air and heavy metals. “I never imagined that one day our tea cream would help astronauts to drink tea in space,” Zhang said, adding that drinking tea in space can be seen as a turning point for the Pu’er tea industry.
“For us, astronauts’ drinking tea in space means our technology used in the tea industry has had some achievements,” Zhang said. “In the future, more tea producers will use it to improve the tea industry.”

C. They have to use a kind of specially made tea cup.
D. There should be nothing left after the tea dissolves in water.
【3】Why does Zhang consider drinking tea in space is a turning point for the Pu’er tea industry?
A. He thinks it might help astronauts in space.
B. He thinks it might make Pu’er tea dissolve easily.
C. He thinks it might help improve the production of Pu’er tea.
D. He thinks it might help improve the tea industry and make Pu’er tea popular.
27、Many years ago, I had my first chance to visit Russia. “Russians are a very polite people,” I had been told before my arrival. One of my friends explained that a gentleman will pour the lemonade(柠檬水) for the ladies and show other good manners.
Toward the end of my three-week trip, I was invited by my Russian friend Nicolai Vasilevich and his wife Yulya out to dinner. At the end of a wonderful meal, Yulya asked if I would like a banana. I politely declined (婉谢) and thanked her, and explained I was most satisfied(满意的) with the meal. But my mind was racing: “What should I do? Should I offer her a banana though they are as close to her as they are to me? What is the polite thing to do?”
“Would you like a banana?” I asked Yulya.
“Yes,” she smiled, but didn’t try to take any of the three bananas in the fruit basket.
“Which one would you like?” I asked again.
“That one,” she pointed at one of the bananas. So thinking about Russian politeness, I picked the banana Yulya had pointed at. Then I peeled it half way and handed it to her. Smiles on Yulya’s and Nicolai’s faces told me I had done the right thing. After this experience, I spent much time letting the world know that in Russia, the polite thing was to peel bananas for ladies.
However, sometime during my third trip I learned I was wrong.
“Oh no, David,” a Russian politely corrected me. “In Russia, when a man peels a banana for a lady, it means he has a romantic(浪漫的)interest in her. ” How embarrassed (尴尬) I felt.
So to communicate properly with people of different cultures, we should watch carefully how people of the same culture communicate with each other. Besides, don’t be afraid to ask questions about their culture.
