Zootopia went a step further to make the different versions (版本). In the US, Canada, France, the news anchor is moose(麋鹿). In Brazil, it’s a jaguar(美洲虎). Australia and New Zealand get a koala; while Chinese audiences see a giant panda.
User Reviews
What can I say…. I’m a huge Disney fan. Maybe not like my friend over at Reviewing All 54 Disney Animated Films. And More!, the Disney cartoons have been a big part of my life. So, in a sense, the Disney animated features are a big deal to me.
Whether young or old, Zootopia’s story carries a powerful and thematic commentary message that’s highly valued and relative (especially in today’s world). As Judy Hopps says in the movie “Life’s a little bit messy. We all make mistakes. No matter what type of animal you are, change starts with you.” And I can’t agree more with that statement.
【1】 In the film, the animal hosting turns into a ___________ if you live in Sydney.
A. koala B. giant panda
C. moose D. jaguar
【2】Who is one of the directors of the film?
A. Jared Bush B. Rich Moore
C. Idris Elba D. Ginnifer Goodwin
【3】You can probably spot this article in a(n) ___________.
A. newspaper B. magazine
C. movie net D. Imax poster
【4】Which of the following is TRUE based on the passage?
A.Zootopia is a romance story about a koala and a giant panda.
B.The film will be released on 4 March 2016 in English and French.
C.You can go to the nearby theater for different 3D versions of Zootopia.
D.Zootopia made different versions which are called “Easter egg-packed”.
【5】Where can we infer (推断) from the User Review?
A.She is a huge Disney fan.
B.She has reviewed 54 Disney animated films.
C.She agrees with the message that the film carries.
D.She does not agree with what Judy Hopps says.
25、These days, kids in South Korea might have trouble playing the latest online games on their smartphones for as long as they want. That’s because the South Korean government has started to take some control over what kids can do on their phones.
The government has developed an app (应用程序) called Smart Sheriff. It lets parents know which websites their kids visit and which apps they use. South Korea has required that kids aged 18 and under should install this app on their smartphones.
South Korea is a high-tech country. It has the fastest Internet connection in the world and is home to Sumsung Electronics, one of the world’s largest producers of smartphones. It was the first country to give students chances to high-speed Internet in school. South Korea also has the world’s highest percentage of smartphone users. Eight out of ten kids there have one. When apps like Smart Sheriff are installed on a phone, the user can’t visit certain websites. And it can tell parents how much time their kids spend on the phones. 27、Would it surprise you to learn that, like animals, trees communicate with each other and pass on their wealth to the next generation—their young trees?
Professor Simard , forest ecologist( 生态学家) from the University of British Columbia, explains how trees are much more complex(复杂)than most of us ever imagined. Although Charles Darwin(达尔文) thought that trees are competing for survival of the fittest, Simard and her team have made a new discovery and showed just how wrong he was. In fact, the opposite is true: trees survive through their group work and support, passing around necessary nutrition (营养) like Nitrogen (氮) and carbon "depending on who needs it".
Nitrogen and carbon are shared through miles of underground fungi (真菌) networks, This makes sure that all trees in the forest ecological system give and receive just the right amount to keep them all healthy. This hidden system works in a very similar way to the networks of neurons (神经元) in our brains, and when one tree is destroyed, it affects all.
Simard talks about "mother trees", These are usually the largest and oldest plants on which all other trees depend. These “Mother Trees” are connected to all the other trees in the forest by this network of fungi, and may manage the resources of the whole trees and plants in the forest. She explains how dying trees pass on the wealth to the next generation, transporting important minerals to young trees so they may continue to grow. When humans cut down "Mother Trees" without paying attention to these highly complex "tree societies" or the networks on which they feed, we are reducing the chances to save the whole forest.
"We didn't take any notice of it" Simard says sadly. "Mother trees move nutrition into the young trees before dying, but we never give them chance." If we could put across the message to the forestry industry, we could make a huge difference towards our environmental protection efforts for the future.
【1】The underlined sentence "the opposite is true" in Paragraph 2 probably means that trees_______.
A. compete for survival B. protect their own wealth
C. depend on each other D. provide support for dying trees
【2】"Mother trees" are extremely important because they________.
A. look the largest in size in the forest
B. pass on nutrition to young trees
C. seem more likely to be cut down by humans
D. know more about the complex "tree societies"
【3】The underlined word "it" in the last paragraph refers to__________.
A. how "tree societies" work B. how trees grow old
C. how forestry industry develops D. how young trees survive
【4】What would be the best title for the passage?
A. Old Trees Communicate Like Humans
B. Young Trees Are In Need Of Protection
C. Trees Are More Awesome Than You Think
D. Trees Contribute To Our Society
