  • 25、Liang Xianghua, a 22-year-old girl from Guangxi University, has been well-known in China for her sand painting since her first work was used by CCTV.

“Sand paintings really attracted me while I was watching a video performance. I was surprised by how this artwork melted people’s heart in minutes,” said Liang. “I fell in love with the way the sand pictures, music and the light connected with each other to make a flow of feelings. You can express things freely.”

In order to learn the skills, Liang practised for several hours every day. She said that she couldn’t even do the first step well of throwing sand onto the glass. But she didn’t give up.

After finding success with her first show, she was invited to do many performances. This made her quite tired. She decided to give a stop and focus on her study. But an invitation from Malaysia changed her mind just as she was about to wash the sand from her hands. This spring, she was invited by a Malaysia middle school to give a performance. Liang didn’t want to do a live show, but agreed to do a video for the school showing its development over the years.

She received praise for her work and the performance was described as an eye-opener for the students. This made her wonder if her art would be more meaningful if she made it for the poor students.

  • 27、We all need to eat. So, meals could be a chance to stop what we’re doing and spend time with the people in our lives. But from time to time, we have to eat alone. Of course, eating alone at home or at a restaurant can be a very satisfying experience. However, could eating too many meals alone be bad for our health or affect(影响) our future success?

A recent study shows that often eating alone may lead to poor eating habits and poor food choices. The study also found that men who ate alone more than twice a week had a greater risk of developing high blood pressure and other illnesses.

For children, those who shared a main meal with their families were less likely to cut class according to the study. These children were also reported to be physically in better shape and drink fewer sugary soft drinks. Researchers say that teenagers who often have family dinner feel closer to their parents. Mealtimes shared with parents provide children with concerns from their parents. So they seemed to have better communication with others.

If you find too many of your mealtimes to be lonely events, experts suggest making small changes. You can try to make room for at least one shared meal a week. And keep it simple even if dinner is a salad and a sandwich, it is still time for a family to be together. If mornings are less busy than evenings, start by making your shared meal. If you work in an office, step out with a co-worker(同事) once in a while or simply share a cup of coffee with a friend.

【1】What does a recent study show?

A.Eating alone can bring you pressure.

B.Eating alone can be a very satisfying experience.

C.You may have poor food choices if you often eat alone.

    A.efforts

    B.influences

    C.attentions

    D.arguments

【3】Which of the following is NOT true?

A.Children who often eat with their families are in better health.

B.Parents and children have a better relationship if they often eat together.

C.Children who share a main meal with their families behave better at school.

D.Teenagers who don’t often have family meals drink fewer sugary soft drinks.

【4】What is the passage mainly about?

A.Eating too many meals alone could be bad.

C.What experts think of people’s eating habits.

The moon, the key part of the festival, is special to most Chinese people. We enjoy and admire it. We use the round moon 【5】 (describe) reunion (团聚), that is, get together. Our respect to the moon dates back to ancient times. The story of Chang’e is the most famous one about the moon. Many Chinese 【6】 (poet) connect the moon with homesickness. It offers them the chance to play games from the last 40 years, in various sessions throughout the day.
