Peter Lantos started seeing the ugly messages someone posted about him on his social networking site when he was only fourteen. He didn’t know who they were from, only that the posts came from someone called Guess9. The posts continued into high school, and the messages got uglier. Whenever Peter went online, he would always find more terrible posts. He felt like it was his problem, so he didn’t say anything to his parents at first. Sometimes the bullying made him so bad that he didn’t want to go to school. Peter was the victim of cyberbullying.
In several ways cyberbullying is even worse than face-to-face bullying. A cyberbully can post anonymously, using an online name, like Guess9, instead of his or her real name. A cyberbully can post someone’s personal information or post photos or videos that might be embarrassing to the victim. Hundreds, thousands, or even millions of people might see the messages on their notebooks, tablets, or smartphones.
What should you do if you are a victim? The most important thing anyone can do is to tell someone. Talk to an adult about it. Don’t deal with cyberbullying alone! There are ways to block a cyberbully’s posts, and someone can help you do that. And one of the most effective things you can do might be to do nothing. Ignoring the bully, rather than replying to his or her posts. puts you in control. Instead of responding, take a break, or go for a walk. Remember that the cyberbully has done something wrong. You haven’t. And what if you have a friend who is bullying someone online? Take a stand! Tell your friend how hurtful it is. You might make a difference.

25、What is the most stressful thing in school? It is probably the exam. Exams can put us under a lot of pressure. But some students do well under pressure, while others feel terrible. So, why do some students perform better under stress?
It all comes down to dopamine (多巴胺). Dopamine is a chemical (化学物质) in our brain that sends signals (信号) to our body. It has many important roles: influencing memory, attention and how we learn. Our brains work best when there is a balance of dopamine — not too much or too little.
Our brains control dopamine in two ways. It either takes out dopamine quickly, or gradually. Exam success can be connected to how fast dopamine goes back to a balance, according to new research from the University of Missouri, reported Yahoo.
What happens when we take an exam? If you become stressed, your brain will start to overload on dopamine. It is like a cup overflowing with water. The quicker you can go back to a balance of dopamine, the quicker you will concentrate, helping you perform better in an exam.
Scientists found that, during a test, people who slowly got back to an even balance of dopamine scored 8 percent lower. That's the difference between a good mark and a bad mark.
But don't fear, there is some good news for every student. The study also found that the more practice you get, the less stressed you'll be.
So, it turns out that practice really does make perfect.

Dwayne sat and stared at the blank paper in front of him, considering how he would write a composition about his life.
Mama wouldn’t be home for another half an hour, so Dwayne went to the kitchen to prepare dinner for his family. With Mama's low income(收入), there wasn’t much to choose from.
“I’m hungry,” said eight-year-old Raymond. “What do you have cooking?”

“Mmm-mm! Is that your famous bean and rice casserole?” Mama asked..
“Mama, you’re home!?” the two younger boys said as they raced to hug her.

“Mama, it’s my composition,” came his reply.
“And what is that composition about?”
“It’s about our life,” said Dwayne.

“Dwayne, I’m sorry you don’t have a lot in your life,” his mama said.

Make sure your family and friends strongly support (支持) your dream, because you will be away from home for a long time. But don’t 【3】 and we will be here for you.
