四、阅读理解 (共4题,共 20分)
  • 24、There are many expressions with heart. One of them is to “lose your heart” to someone. When that happens, you have fallen in love. But if the person who “won your heart” does not love you, then you are sure to have a “broken heart”. In your sadness, you think that the person you love is “hard-heart”, and in fact, has a “heart of stone”.

You may decide to “pour out your heart” to a friend. Telling someone about your personal problems can often make you feel better.

If your friend does not seem to understand how painful your broken heart is, you may ask her to “have a heart”. You are asking your friend to show some sympathy (同情) for your situation.Your friend “has her heart in the right place” if she says she is sorry for how you feel.

If your friend says, “My heart bleeds (流血) for you”, she means the opposite. She is a cold-hearted person who does not really care about your situation.

When you are feeling afraid, “your heart is in your mouth”. You might say, for example, that your heart was in your mouth when you asked a bank to lend you some money to pay for a new house.

If that bank says no to you, do not “lose heart”. Be “strong-hearted”. Sit down with the banker and have a “heart to heart” talk. Be open and honest about your situation. The bank may have a “change of heart” and agree to lend you the money. Then you could stop worrying and “put your heart at rest”.

【1】If the person who won your heart does not love you, you may think that ________.

    A.she has a strong heart

B.she has a heart of stone

    C.she has a broken heart

    D.she loses her heart

【2】If your friend has her heart in the right place, she may ________.

    A.be kind to you

B.tell us about her personal information

    C.live a happy life

    D.have a right heart

【3】If your friend says, “My heart bleeds for you”, she may ________.

A.not know about her health problem

    B.have a heart trouble

    C.not care much about you

    D.want to know what happened

D.You can put your heart at rest if the bank agrees to lend you the money you need finally.

  • 25、   Many Chinese girls love “small, fresh meat”, which refers to young, effeminate (柔弱的) male stars. However, it turns out that not everyone is a fan of them. Some parents worry about the bad effect (影响)on their children from the stars. The popularity of effeminate male stars is partly influenced of Japanese and South Korean pop culture, an expert said, in fact, being effeminate was popular among Chinese men during the Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern dynasties, especially among aristocrats (贵族)and scholars. It’s only a central issue ( 观点) temporarily (暂时的) and will be replaced by a new youth culture at some stage. If a man has feminine (阴柔的)beauty, this doesn’t mean that he lacks responsibility. A man’s strength should be judged on the basis of their inner qualities (内涵) – not their physical appearance.

    根据短文内容,判断句子正(T)、误(F)。

1Not everyone likes small, fresh meat.

2According to the text, being effeminate was popular among Chinese men only during the Wei and

      Southern and Northern dynasties.

3The popularity of being effeminate will be replaced by traditional culture.

    4Effeminate men are not responsible.

  • 27、Do you like listening to music? Do you often turn up the music when you’re using earphones? If so, your hearing may have been damaged(损坏).

The World Health Organization (WHO) is worried that 1.1 billion children and young people are damaging their hearing by listening to loud music. Nearly half the young people in developed countries may lose their hearing because of the "unsafe use" of music players, including smartphones. Loud music in nightclubs, parties and at sports also make it worse. The WHO advises young people to listen to music for just one hour a day. Dr. Etienne Krug told BBC: "What we're trying to do is to draw people's attention to a problem that is not talked about enough." He said it's easy to solve this problem.

Dr. Krug said keeping the music down and limiting (限制) the listening time to less than one hour a day would save a lot of people's hearing. However, he also said, "Even an hour can be too much if the music is too loud.” Ralph Holme, a researcher, explained how loud noise can damage ears. He said: "Loud sounds damage your hearing by killing off thousands of little hair cells(细胞) in the inner ear. The cells can tell different sounds through vibration(振动). But they are very fragile—they get damaged easily and even die if they vibrate too much because of loud sounds for too long.” He warned: "The bigger problem is they don't grow back and the ear can no longer get sound."

No one wants to lose their hearing! Therefore, next time when you listen to music, make sure it's not too loud and only listen for less than an hour. You can enjoy your music much better in this way.

【1】How are the children and young people damaging their hearing?

    A.By using smartphones.

    B.By going to the party.

    C.By listening to loud music.

    D.By talking with friends.

    A.For a long time.

    B.For just one hour.

    C.For half of the day.

    D.For more than one hour.

【3】What does the word fragile in Paragraph 3 probably mean?

    A.Weak.

    B.Clever.

    C.Small.

    D.Strong.

【4】From the passage we can learn that __________.
