21、If you’re tired of the Mediterranean and don’t want to head to Disney again, perhaps it’s time for a summer holiday in space. Russia has declared plans for its first floating hotel, 217 miles above earth, and it is something of an offering with good service.
Hosting just seven guests in a four cabins, the accommodation will boast huge windows with views back to earth and tasty microwave meals will be served instead of the ones often used by astronauts.
Just getting there will be an adventure in itself—it will take two days aboard a Soyuz rocket—and it won’t exactly be a budget holiday: A five-day stay will cost you£100, 000 to£500, 000 for your journey. The hotel is due to open by 2016 and, according to those behind it, will be far more comfortable than the International Space Station (ISS) used by astronauts and cosmonauts.
In the weightlessness of space, visitors can choose to have beds that are either vertical or horizontal. Tourists, who will be accompanied by experienced crew, will dine on food prepared on Earth and sent up on the rocket, to be reheated in microwave ovens. Many kinds of delicacies will be available.
Iced tea, mineral water and fruit juices will be available, but alcohol will be strictly prohibited. Toilets will use flowing air instead of water to move waste through the system. Waste water will be recycled.
Sergei Kostenko, chief executive of Orbital Technologies which will construct the hotel, said: “Our planned module inside will not remind you of the International Space Station. A hotel should be comfortable inside, and it will be possible to look at the Earth. The hotel will be aimed at wealthy individuals and people working for private companies who want to do research in space.” The hotel can also be used as an emergency bolthole (避难处) for astronauts aboard the International Space Station if there is a crisis.

22、Children of America are getting fatter every time. 13% of the children at the age of 6 to 11 are overweight(too fat).
When we look at the children's lives today in the USA, we can see the root(origin)of the problem----sports and foods. Young children like sports but they don't have enough around the start of high school. That's especially true for girls. Meanwhile, to make matters worse, schools are becoming much more interested in sports teams. So children are not able to get enough exercise just when they need it the most. There is also the food problem. Children get most of their calories at restaurants or parties or somewhere else away from home. They often drink too many Cokes. Parents have a lot of fears about telling a child he needs to lose weight-- they are afraid it will push a child into an eating disorder. Some parents fear that pushing children to lose weight means their children will think they're not good enough, or not loved because of their weight. Parents need to come to terms with the fact that the family is very important to the children. The most useful program for children is called "family weight control". This is good news. Mom and Dad, even if they don't have weight problems, have to go through the same program as their children and learn how to get some exercise and how to eat healthily.

24、At 81 years old, Jeanne Daprano is still pushing her body to the limit. She’s still running competitive races, breaking world records and taking on new challenges. “The thing I’m learning about aging is that it’s inevitable,” Daprano said. “I’m not going to escape it. There are two ways to go: You can either press on or give up.”
Daprano grew up in Iowa. Then, she moved to California. As a primary school teacher, she began running in order to keep up with her student. “I was known as a running teacher,” she said. “I had my students do fitness before we studied in the morning and then throughout the day.” Then she began running competitively with 5K and 10K road races before moving to the track. She is now the world record holder in the women’s 75-year-old age group 400 meters and 800 meters. “When I get to the final finish line, I want this body to be worn out. I’m not doing this to live to be 100. I’m doing this to be the best I can be today.”
After moving to Atlanta about a decade ago, Daprano met fitness trainer David Buer. Ever since, she’s been coming to his gym, where he tailors workouts for Daprano’s specifc needs. “When she came to me, she was pushing 70 years old,” Buer said. “I’ve worked with other individuals Jeanne’s age, but she came to me with different goals. She had a unique drive and passion — not just a passion for fitness or athletics but for life in general.”
Last February, Daprano took on a new challenge: her first indoor rowing competition. In classic fashion, she broke the world record in the 80-to-84 age group, rowing 2,000 meters in 9:23:7. For those hoping to either start getting in shape or stay in shape for a long time, she offers this advice: Listen to your body. What are you passionate about? 26、阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
Two years ago, I had just completed a business trip and was going to fly back to China from India. When I arrived at the airport, I was told that my visa had expired the day before, so I wasn’t allowed to board the airplane. I was very anxious because there was only me, a Chinese person, at the airport. My English was not very good, so I couldn’t find anyone to help me.
Later, an officer took me to the customs where I needed to pay an extra 90 dollars before I took the plane. But I didn’t have enough money in my pocket. And I could not withdraw any money from the banks there. If I wanted to withdraw some money, I needed to fly back to the capital of India. I was very upset.
I tried to calm myself down and hoped I could come up with an idea. At that moment, I thought the only thing I could do was borrow some money from one of the people who would be on the same plane as me, so then I could give it back to them when I got back to China.
When I tried to borrow money from some of the passengers passing by, they all thought that I was trying to cheat them. I was very sad that nobody would lend me the money. When I was about to give up, an Indian man said he would be happy to lend me 1,500 Rupees (about 150 yuan). I was very happy and thanked him. His behavior lighted my hope once again.
I continued to borrow money from other people. Some still didn’t believe me. I had collected about 20 dollars when there was only one and a half hours left before boarding the plane. I felt helpless and started to cry while sitting on the floor.
