If you are not Britain or a citizen of the European Community(欧共体),you must fill out a special form before your passport is examined. This form is called a landing card and should be given to you during the flight to London.

If you have luggage which is carried in the aircraft hold, it will be delivered to you in the Baggage Reclaim Area. Look for the sign with your flight number. If you have only hand luggage, go directly through the Baggage Reclaim Area to the Customs.

If you are not sure about your Duty Free allowance(免税限额)or if you have something to declare, go through the Red Channel. Information about Duty Free allowance can be found on special notice–boards in the Baggage Reclaim Area. • 22、Dr. De Momi, of the Politecnico di Milano (Italy), led an international team that trained a robot to imitate natural human actions. 【1】 Over time this should lead to improvements in safety during surgeries because unlike their human partners, robots do not tire and can complete an endless series of precise(精准的) movements. The goal is not to remove human skill from the operating room, but to complement it with a robot's particular skills and benefits.

“As a roboticist, I firmly believe that robotic (co)workers, or say, collaborators will definitely change the work market, but they won’t steal job opportunities. 【2】 ”De Momi explains.

To conduct their experiment De Momi’s team photographed a human being doing numerous reaching motions, in a way similar to handing instruments (手术工具) to a surgeon. These camera captures were input into the neural (神经) network of the robotic arm, which is essential to controlling movements. Next, a human operator guided the robotic arm in imitating the reaching motions that the human subject had initially performed. Although there was not a perfect match between the robotic and human actions, they were generally similar.

【3】 These observers determined whether the actions of the robotic arms were “biologically inspired,” which meant that their neural networks had effectively learned to imitate human behavior. About 70% of the time this is exactly what the human observers concluded.

These results are promising, although further research is necessary to confirm or refine De Momi’s conclusions. If robotic arms can indeed imitate human behavior, it would be necessary to build conditions in which humans and robots can cooperate effectively in high stress environments like operating rooms. 【4】 De Momi’s work is part of the growing field of healthcare robotics, which has the potential to change the way we receive health care sooner rather than later.

A.This future may not be as far away as we think.

B.Robots can’t successfully imitate doctors’ motions in the operating room.

C.Finally, several humans observed as the robotic arm made numerous motions.

D.De Momi’s robots have been widely used in many fields and are sure to change the market.

E.They will just help us decrease workload and achieve better performances in several tasks.

F.His work suggests that humans and robots can effectively cooperate during high-risk events.

  • 23、Children need exercise. Parents often worry that making time for sports or even for just playing games is going to take away from their kids’ study. But actually, this is not true. There have been huge numbers of studies that all show that kids who are physically fit are better in school, get better grades, and have higher intelligence scores than kids who are unfit. And that is probably because during the life, even into old age, there’s a strong connection between a healthy hear and a healthy brain.

The brain is the most important organ that your circulatory (循环的) system has to feed. It takes up a lot of the body’s oxygen and a lot of the body’s energy. And unlike most of your tissues, your brain can’t live very long without blood supply. You cut blood supply off for about five minutes and parts of the brain start dying. So some illnesses that cut off blood flow to the brain in older people are a key cause of   cognitive (认知的) difficulty with age. And even in little kids, being physically fit clearly improves intellectual performance.

The other thing parents should be thinking about is that in childhood your kid needs about 90 minutes a day of active moving around, and parents should really focus, I think, on making sure that that’s fun, first of all. You don’t want to use exercise as punishment. And you also, I think, want to have them doing something that could maybe continue into adulthood. However much your kids like climbing trees, they’re not going to be doing that when they’re 40, not most of us anyway.

And if you give them a sport or a taste for hiking or a taste for yoga, something that grown-ups do, you greatly reduce the chance that they’re going to be one of the large numbers of adults who are not active. Usually that change happens around the age of 13 or so.

【1】What is the worry of parents about their children?

A.Their children are not physically fit.

B.Their children wouldn’t like to take up sports.

C.Playing games does harm to their children’s health.

D.Exercise may be bad for their children’s study.

【2】Why do some older people have cognitive difficulty?

A.Because there is not enough blood supply for the brain.

B.Because the brain takes up a lot of the body’s oxygen.

C.Because the brain is the most important organ.

D.Because their blood supply for the brain is completely cut off.

【3】What can we can learn from the third paragraph ?

A.Parents can use exercise as punishment.

B.Parents should pay attention to kids’ exercise

C.Parents should do more exercise that is fun.

D.Parents can’t allow their kids to climb trees.

【4】What does the underlined word “yoga” probably refers to?

    A.A helpful book.

    B.A famous film

    C.A kind of physical exercise.

    D.An effective punishment
