21、Got vegan milk? The amount of faux (人造的) dairy products is growing and the choices seem endless. You can buy products made of soy, almond, rice, oats, and coconut, in regular or flavored varieties.
A report shows that sales of plant-based dairy alternatives grew twice as fast in 2020 as real milk. But some people won’t make the switch because the alternatives don’t taste the same as milk. Now, a milk alternative is being launched that actually tastes like it came from a cow. Danone, which is known for its yogurt, will be launching two new milk alternatives in North America that the company expects to fill this place.
Silk’s Next Milk and So Delicious’ Wondermilk will both be made of oat milk, coconut milk, coconut oil, and soy. Danone is counting on the new products to reach people who want to switch from dairy for health or ethical reasons but enjoy the taste of milk in their coffee and breakfast cereal.
“There’s been a group of consumers who remain skeptical about plant-based offerings, largely because of their taste and texture, ”John Starkey said. “From our research, we saw that there were about 53 per cent of people who say that they wouldn’t purchase plant-based beverages because of their taste.”
While the company has been in the faux dairy business since 2016, the products did not have the real dairy taste. The company used its experience with both real dairy and faux dairy products to refine the new offerings.
There are other milk alternatives available that also aim to be more milk like. Notco, a company, located in Chile, produces a milk alternative called Not Milk that is made of sunflower oil, pea protein, water, and pineapple juice. Another pea-based product called Wunda was launched by Nestle in Europe in 2021. The food giant Impossible Foods is also working on their own version of milk called Impossible Milk. The company is looking to corner the faux dairy market the same way its Impossible Burger did when it was released in 2016.

Every time you draw a conclusion, prepare an argument, or solve a problem with given information, you use critical thinking skills. You can teach elementary school students how to use critical thinking skills, too. 【1】.
●Let them struggle and fail
If someone else is always there to correct then they’ll expect someone else to give them the answer all the time. 【2】. They can’t do that if they’re always asking whether they’re right at every step of the problem-solving process.
●Let them take risks within reason
If they have a different way of solving a math problem, let them follow it through. If they have a unique point of view on a question, let them risk exploring that. 【3】.
●Develop positivity and creativity
【4】. A good critical thinking question, project, or lesson should offer students many ways to go about producing something new. You don’t have to limit them to any one creative medium or example case, especially in humanities classes.

Working together happens on a global scale now, and communication skills used to work as a team are never going away. Get them used to productive arguments, presenting evidence, contributing to problem solving, and asking peers for help. They can get into the habit of working together now, even with something as simple as who the main character is in a move they all saw and liked.

23、Soft winds blew throughout the Windy City today. We welcomed the winds, as it was another hot day in Chicago. The wind blew, bringing us some coolness—and making the weather not that hot. But it was a beautiful summer day with a blue sky.
Chicago is a great city for eating, and we have enjoyed tasting the different foods. Last night, we tried one of the city’s most famous foods: deep-dish pizza. Chicago claims credit for the rich and cheesy thick-crust pizza, covered with a sweet tomato sauce. We topped it with olives and green peppers.
We were touring the city, mainly looking for delicious local foods. Today, we enjoyed a Polish specialty at lunch: Pierogis, an Eastern European dumpling-like dish, filled with foods like potatoes, cheese, mushrooms, cabbage and meat. Polish immigrants started settling in Chicago in the 1850s, and the city has one of the largest Polish communities in the U.S.
We took a break from exploring the city to talk with some of you! Ashley and Caty logged onto the Internet for an on-the -road version of TALK2US. We spoke to an English teacher in Tokyo, Japan, and a graduate student in India.
Meanwhile, Adam searched for some locations around the city to shoot some video. He chose a spectacular spot: Navy Pier, Chicago’s most-visited attraction. The winds from Lake Michigan keep visitors cool, and the view of the Chicago skyline never fails to impress. In fact, the view made all of us head over heels!
Our time in Chicago has come to an end. Tomorrow, the true journey begins, as we pass through Illinois and into Missouri via Route 66. Springfield, the home of Abe Lincoln, and St. Louis, the “gateway to the West,” wait for us.

The Teen Astronomy Café program is an out-of-school program that offers high school students opportunities to interact with scientists who work at the forefront of astronomy. The program will be from 9:30 a.m. till noon on one morning each month from October through May (except for January).
Students explore the birth and death of stars, killer asteroids (行星), the structure of the universe, dark energy, dark matter, and more. A hands-on activity related to the short presentation will follow as part of the Teen Astronomy Cafés experience—either as a state-of-the-art computer lab activity, a movie, a deeper discussion, or an exploration of the topic with a 3-D printer. The students will use the actual computer programs and data that the scientists use!
The Teen Astronomy Cafés are open to all high school students at no cost. The program aims to improve student achievement, and fuel (激发) their desire to go to college and pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) in the future.
