21、UK is becoming a popular destination for people who wish to study abroad. However, Britain is quite an expensive place to study and live in. Tuition fees have now reached £ 9,250 a year and students also face some of the highest living costs in the world.
Fortunately, there are a number of countries where universities offer degree programs entirely in English, along with the chance to learn the local language while you live there. Here are three of the options.
Tianjin University
Moving to China is not for the faint- hearted. Undergraduate degree courses at Tianjin last four years. Living costs are only around £ 400 a month and tuition fees are £ 2,300 a year. Flights will cost £ 3,600 over the four years. The total cost, at £ 28,800, is still around half that of a three-year degree in Britain. Tianjin is one of the world's latest cities and is only a half-hour train ride from Beijing. Three undergraduate programs are offered in English: Chemical Engineering, Environment & Energy and Pharmaceutical Science.
University of Amsterdam
The Dutch capital is not a cheap city to live in, but standard tuition fees of £ 1,800 a year make it significantly cheaper than a British degree. There are 14 bachelor's degrees on offer that are taught in English, including Political Science, Economics & Business Economics and Actuarial Science. Nearly all Dutch people speak English, making it an easy country to get by in.
University of Milan
The University of Milan's fees range from £ 140 to £3,650 a year. The one bachelor's degree offered entirely in English―Political Science is a three-year course. While living costs in Milan are high, the significantly lower fees make it a cheaper option than a British university.
【1】What is probably the total cost of a three-year degree in Britain?

22、Gift shops in museums used to be the last stop of each visit, where people would buy souvenirs for themselves and their friends. But what happened last year when the British Museum opened its online store on Chinese e-commerce website Tmall says otherwise.
The store has become so popular since its launch on July 1 that some of its items have already sold out. It's even more interesting considering the fact that many of its customers in China have probably never even been to the museum before.
Perhaps French museum expert Diane Drubay made a good point when she said that gift shops have become “a point of entry to the museum”, as she told The New York Times. “Instead of being the last place people go after a visit, it can be the first.”
But you're probably still wondering: What is it about museum gift shops that makes them so different?
Each museum product contains a small piece of history. For example, in the British Museum store there are different kinds of sticky tape printed with pattern inspired by the famous Rosetta Stone. Known as the “key to ancient Egyptian writing”, the stone was discovered in 1799, and contains an inscription(碑铭)that helped historians better understand some of the most mysterious Egyptian scripts. And in the gift shops of China's Palace Museum, there are earphones inspired by the necklaces worn by ancient officials, which may also indicate the wearer’s position with the beads’ different materials and colors.
And with the design evolving over the years, museum products are no longer limited to exhibition catalogs to be put on the bookshelf or duplicates(复制品)of famous paintings to be hung on the wall. They now mean items that we can put to use every day-glasses, jewelry, cushion covers-which means we're able to not only “own” a piece of history, but also hold it in our hands, wear it on our neck, or even sleep on it.
Indeed, museum shops are no longer just about selling things. As US museum store consultant Geoff Walsky once told Gift Shop Magazine, “A great museum gift shop is an extension of the museum itself.”

23、 Here are four tips to help you prepare a better cup of coffee from the comfort of your kitchen:
Start with good materials.
At its simplest, a cup of coffee consists of two things: coffee and water. 【1】 Therefore, choosing good water is very important for creating good coffee at home.
When it comes to the other main material, it goes beyond just buying “good” coffee. Try choosing fresh coffee. Like sonic fruits coffee will go bad with time, and the unique flavors will start to fade away.
Get a good coffee grinder.
Good grinders run col fee beans through two gear-like circles. They allow for a more uniform grind size compared to common grinders, although they tend to be bigger and more expensive. There are mechanized grinders and hand control ones. 【2】
Develop Your Recipe.
The proportion of coffee to water is a personal thing. Walimaki likes a 1:16 proportion. 【3】 The right proportion, she says, “will do magic to like the flavors of your coffee.” If that math is hard in your head, try starting out with 60 grams of coffee to one liter of water as a baseline.
【4】
Don’t expect to become some kind of expert taster overnight. Walimaki notes “The more you taste something, the better you’re going to get at identifying what’s good and what’s bad. If you’re having trouble naming what you taste try using a flavor wheel — a handy tool that can help you pick out exactly what you’re tasting. 【5】 And it gets more specific towards the edges.”
A.Learn to describe what you taste.
B.That is one part coffee to 16 parts water.
C.There can be more to coffee than just what’s in your cup.
D.The taste of your water will affect the taste of your coffee.
E.It starts with more general tastes in the center like fruit and nut.
F.Drink your morning coffee at home while catching up on the news.
G.By breaking up beans yourself at home, you can choose your preferred powder.
24、Directions: Read the following passage. Fill in each blank with a proper sentence given in the box. Each sentence can be used only once. Note that there are two more sentences than you need.
Building a lasting social relationship
We all know that friends are special people who we share our lives with, and who share their lives with us in return. But seeking friends and keeping the friendship going are never easy.
According to research recently published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, the key is to use "we-talk".
Led by University of California psychologist Megan Robins and her colleagues, the researchers reviewed and analyzed 30 different studies involving over 5, 000 participants.【1】.
The word "we" moves people from an individual position into a partnership, which makes us more interdependent. " 【2】. Word use is a window into what people are thinking and feeling without asking them." Robbins told Science Daily.
【3】. The primary point is that interdependence may bring about supportive and relationship-centered behaviors and positive perceptions of the partner—especially important in times of stress and disagreement.
Contrary to "we-talk", there is "I-talk", which refers to the frequent use of the first-person singular pronouns, such as "I", "me" and "mine", when writing or speaking. Earlier this year, researcher analyzed a set of data that came from 4,7000 people in Germany and the US. 【4】. As you can see from the two studies, too much "I-talk" can make you feel depressed. But "we-talk" can encourage you to become more positive and create a chain effect of healthy interdependence with others.
So next time you are talking to a friend, try using more "we-talk". You may find yourself feeling more positive--and the effect it will have on your friend will be positive as well.
A.Pronouns offer an insight into whether people see themselves as individuals or as part of a whole.
B.If you are speaking in a person context, you're speaking about something that's of relevance to you.
C.Their research also found that "we-talk" is helpful for resolving conflicts.
D.Self-centered people are found to be indifferent to many things in society and other people because all their concentration is only on themselves and their needs.
E.This analysis of "we-talk" suggested that the frequent use of "we" and "us" is linked to happier and healthier relationships.
F.They found that too much "I-talk" was an accurate linguistic marker for the likelihood that someone is feeling stressed or experiencing negative emotions.
