21、There are various camps. Have you heard about ‘‘Survival Camp”? “Survival Camp” is for children to go into the lonely place for exciting activities. Now about 1,100 companies are allowed to take children into the great outdoors without their parents.
The reason why people like “Survival Camp” is that they think getting close to nature is good for children. Many children in big cities spend all time watching TV and playing computer games. “Survival Camp” gives them an important change.
Is “Survival Camp” a wonderful idea? Maybe it is. Children need more free time to play. They need to be left on their own, without adults disturbing (打扰) them. Parents care too much about their children. They like to see the children being busy with activities that are controlled by adults but children don’t know what to do when they are in danger. Even something like crossing a small river seems to be a hard challenge. Children are not comfortable with danger. Even small danger like getting their feet wet or falling down seems very terrible to them.
Many people think the survival activities are good for children. Even years later, they will still remember what they have learned. Some have learned to stay calm in different times. Some have learned how to keep safe. Others have learned how to work in a team. All these skills will help them a lot in their lives.
【1】What is “Survival Camp” according to the passage?

22、 To be rulers of the reality, we must know how to ask for suggestions. But one thing that must be kept in mind is that when we ask others for suggestions we must be open to suggestions.
I wrote a business letter one day. I gave it to my husband for suggestions. After reading the letter, he felt that there were some problems in my letter. I told him I needed more information, but he said he wasn’t sure. Then he reread the letter and made notes. I took the letter and revised it. As I was writing, I could see my letter improved based on his suggestions. Again, I handed the letter back to my husband proudly and confidently. But he said it was still not right. I was a little annoyed and said some bad words to him.
Many people may have the same reaction when they experience the same situation. It’s normal that people don’t like objection or critical words. However, we should hold a right attitude towards these words: Analyze the objection and listen to critical words with an open mind.
I then picked up the letter. After an hour of revision, I went back to my husband contritely. I told him I was sorry for what I had said. And after he read the letter again, he declared that it was fine.
That leads me to the following: When you ask for advice on a project, be grateful. Understand that the suggestions you get may be negative. Understand that it may mean more work for you. And keep in mind that the final responsibility for the project is still yours. So be modest and thankful even if he or she has noted some problems.

B.Don’t refuse any help from the giver.
C.Do keep silent before taking action.
D.Don’t quarrel but talk with the giver.
23、With schools close in the UK during the COVID-19 outbreak, most children must now be homeschooled. Parents have found themselves not only having to balance work and having the children at home but also having to try and teach them. How can you keep your children focused while learning?
Nicola Anderson — Head of Customer Support at the UK's leading online tutoring service My Tutor, provides new, up-to-date tips to hearten parents at this difficult time and advises how they can structure their children's days.
One is to keep to a regular timetable so it still feels like your child is taking part in the school day. Ms Anderson said, “Children of all ages do well on routine and boundaries; schools provide this in abundance and it will make most children feel secure and happy if they can follow a similar timetable for their homeschooling.”
Another tip is to create an environment which is favorable to learning. She said, “The environment should be free from distractions(分心)and ideally near to an open window, to provide them with appropriate levels of fresh air and natural light. Some children find it comfortable and helpful to have quiet, instrumental music playing in the background to help them to focus, but this isn't for everyone.”
Using technology to help with your child's learning is also advised. Many schools are offering online classes and resources to help and companies are reducing or even not charging their fees during this time.
It is also important to keep physical exercise as a part of your routine. Joe Wicks, otherwise known as The Body Coach, has been keeping kids healthy with daily 10 minute workouts for children on his Youtube channel. Ms Anderson said, “It can be anything from running around the garden, walking the dog, a game of football or dancing around your living room!”

24、 In 1973, I was teaching elementary school. Each day, 27 kids entered “The Thinking Laboratory.” That was the name students voted for after deciding that “Room 104” was too dull.
Freddy was an average student, but not an average person. He had the rare balance of fun and compassion(同情). He would laugh the loudest over fun and be the saddest over anyone’s misfortune.
Before the school year ended, I gave the kids a special gift, T-shirts with the words “Verbs Are Your Friends ” on them. I had advised the kids that while verbs(动词)may seem dull , most of the fun things they do throughout their lives will be verbs.
Through the years, I’d run into former students who would provide updates on old classmates. I learned that Freddy did several jobs after his graduation from high school and remained the same caring person I met forty years before . Once, while working overnight at a store, he let a homeless man sleep in his truck. Another time, he lent a friend money to buy a house.
Just last year, I was conducting a workshop when someone knocked at the classroom door. A woman excused the interruption and handed me an envelope. I stopped teaching and opened it up. Inside were the “Verbs” shirt and a note from Freddy’s mother. “Freddy passed away on Thanksgiving. He wanted you to have this. ”
I told the story to the class. As sad as it was, I couldn’t help smiling. Although Freddy was taken from us, we all took something from Freddy.
