21、Now some businesses are using Artificial Intelligence as a shortcut to writing materials for them in hopes of saving time and effort. Sure, computers are great at capturing(捕捉) information and recognizing trending searches, but translating that information into an organized piece of writing designed specifically for you? Not so much.
Your job as a business owner is to connect with your customers. To show them you “see” them, understand them, and you can deliver. You want to reach your clients not just by showing calculated content that shows you are relevant. The job of AI is to skim the surface and bring you back keywords and phrases that are, well, robotic. However, through the complexities of human thought and emotion, human content writers far surpass AI in choosing just the right words that can touch and attract other humans.
People who use AI to generate their writing materials might think it will save them time, but the opposite ends up being true. We’re all been in situations where we take a shortcut to save time, and it ends up creating more work. The same goes for using AI for writing. For example, it captures a lot of the top-ranking content for you to slap onto your blog, but you then have to go back and figure out how to transform that forced content into your business’s voice, style and tone. It’s like someone giving you a pair of pants. Yay! Pants! But they are not your size or color, so you spend even more time mending them and trying to talk yourself into liking them than the time you would have spent just getting the pants for yourself.
AI has had much more success in fields such as manufacturing and technology. For now, there isn’t any AI writer software sophisticated (水平高的) and creative enough to sound just like a human.
But humans do have limitations and AI writers can work with writers as an aid. You can imagine AI that could do your research for writing a white paper, or fact check for you. These types of tools could be incredible time-saving tools for writers in the future.

22、 Though most dinosaurs are thought to have hunted primarily during the day, a little bird-like dinosaur may have been strictly a night hunter, a new study suggested.
The dinosaur, Shuvuuia deserti, was a small animal, about the size of a chicken, and it lived about 65 million years ago in the deserts of what is now Mongolia.
Shuvuuia's skeleton is among the most bizarre of all dinosaurs, the study said. It had a fragile, bird-like skull; strong arms with a single claw on each hand; and long legs. “ Acting at night, digging ability and long limbs are all features of animals that live in deserts today,“ said study lead author Jonah Choiniere, a University of the Witwatersrand scientist. “But it's surprising to see them all combined in a single dinosaur species that lived more than 65 million years ago." he added, “It had some of the largest pupils (瞳孔) ever measured in either birds or dinosaurs.”
“For many decades, dinosaurs were considered to be day-active,“ study coauthor Lars Schmitz, a biologist at the W.M. Keck Science Department in California, said in a statement. "Now we're adding new evidence that some small, predatory(食肉的)dinosaurs could have been night-active instead, which changes the thinking about dinosaurs."
The study investigated how vision and hearing abilities of dinosaurs and birds compared, and concluded that Shuvuuia's vision and hearing were not at all ideal for the daytime. Schmitz explained that the dinosaur's extraordinary hearing and night vision were beneficial for life in the desert, where high temperatures discouraged daytime hunting.
“We think it would have caught its prey — small mammals — at night when the temperatures were cooler, Schmitz told CNN.
The study was published Thursday in the peer-reviewed journal Science, a publication of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

23、Do you ever hear a friend speak on a topic with the belief that “everyone”thinks the same way? Do you often find yourself surrounded in a social media feed that is completely tailored to you and your beliefs, reading along without the immediate realization?
A social media echo chamber (回声壁) is when one experiences a tailored media experience that leave out opposing viewpoints and differing voices. Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube connect groups of like-minded users together based on shared content preferences. As a result, people see and take in information according to our preexisting beliefs and opinions. Social media companies therefore rely on algorithms (算法) to assess our interests and flood us with information that will keep our attention. The algorithms focus on what we “like”, and “share” to keep feeding content that makes us comfortable.
In order to truly get access to all information and to evaluate our media, we must give ourselves the opportunity to step out of our comfort zone. While this becomes increasingly challenging, there are things we can do. The first step is to beef up your media consumption sources. Adding in a few media sources with differing opinions will allow you to at least understand what people are saying outside of your echo chamber. Next, read each thing you see with a critical eye. Make sure that each thing you accept as truth is truly fact. Lastly, attempt to search out reliable new sources that are known for trying their best to leave out false information. By accepting that our media buffet on social media is a product of our present beliefs and opinions, we can work to make sure we are not simply stuck in a social media echo chamber.
【1】What is a result of the social media echo chamber?
A.People contact like-minded online users effectively.
B.People keep reading for more differing viewpoints.
C.People rely on algorithms to evaluate their interests.
D.People only get information confirming their beliefs.
【2】What does “beef up”underlined in paragraph 3 mean?
A.Track.
B.Improve.
C.Provide.
D.Identify.
【3】Which of the following can help us get out of the echo chamber?
A.Criticizing fake news on social media.
B.Exposing ourselves to opposing voices.
C.Researching primary sources of information.
D.Accepting our present beliefs and opinions.
【4】What is the purpose of the text?
A.To call on people to use algorithms frequently.
B.To ask people not to take in information blindly.
C.To promote the use of various social media sites.
D.To inform people of new technology developments.
