21、Although we may not have the ability to paint the Mona Lisa or write novels like Hemingway, everyone is born with a special ability — creativity. Some people can find and learn to show it early, while others might discover it later in life. Creativity has different meanings for different people, but unluckily a lot of things may stifle the development of it.And the importance of creativity is not valued as much as it should be. However, it has a powerful effect on one’s overall ability to get much success in life.
No matter how busy one is, it is very important to leave some time to develop creativity. Trying out different hobbies is a great way to discover one’s creativity because it can be very enjoyable. Some people find one hobby and fall deeply in love with it. Some people prefer to try different hobbies for short time, or change them up each season to stay interested and keep trying different things.
One great thing about a hobby is that there are no set rules. Each person gets to decide how often they want to do it and whether they want to keep it for a long time or move on to something else after trying it for a few weeks or months.
Another cool thing about hobbies is that one can enjoy them quietly when spending some free time alone, or as a way to fit in a community. Book clubs, art or cooking classes, gardening clubs — nearly every type of hobby offers a chance to meet with other people with the same interest and build relationships. Hobbies can be a great way to create a community among co-workers.
Usually, the simple act of developing hobbies can provide a chance for a person to find and show his or her creativity, which will produce great active changes. When people experience something as simple and great as creating something beautiful through hobbies, they begin to look at the world — and daily environments — in a fresh way.

22、Royal Dutch Shell is launching a $ 300 million forestry program, at a time when an increasing number of oil companies are putting money in carbon offset (碳补偿) plans to meet climate goals. The company will spend the money over the next three years on projects to store carbon, including large forests in the Netherlands and Spain, and will start offering motorists the option of purchasing carbon offsets when they buy petrol at the pump.
The executives of the company explained that these carbon offset projects were a new business opportunity for Shell, as well as a way to meet its climate targets. “We believe that over time we will be building a business, because these carbon credits will become more valuable as carbon becomes more limited,” they said. Shell recently decided to cut its net carbon footprint by 2-3 percent in five years, which includes emissions from the products it sells. The company plans to produce carbon credits from the forestry projects, then sell these credits on to customers buying its oil and gas products , or apply the credits to its own operations to lower its carbon footprint.
Plants absorb carbon dioxide as they grow and restoring forests and other natural areas is considered one of the simplest ways to store carbon. However, the voluntary market for carbon credits based on forestry projects has its critics, as projects in developing countries can be hard to monitor. Shell's move has also been criticized by some environmentalists. They worried that there was a risk of “green wash” when companies invested in forestry projects. “There is an entire debate about whether forestry projects truly reduce emissions or not,” they said, pointing out that planting in one area could cause deforestation(滥伐森林) to another.
Shell said it would rely on the third party to ensure its forest program to meet the Voluntary Carbon Standard and strict biodiversity requirements. Mark Lewis, head of climate change investment research at BNP Paribas, said," Planting trees to offset emissions, as far as it goes, is a step in the right direction.
【1】What is popular among oil companies these days?

23、The World's Deadliest Beaches
Dangerous sea creatures, big waves, and air pollution are just some of the many things you need to take caution to when visiting the world's deadliest beaches.
Cape Tribulaton, Australia
Cape Tribulaton is said to be unsafe due to its huge amount of dangerous animals. There are tons of jellyfish and it is not safe to swim near the mouths of the rivers because of crocodile warnings. Gansbaai, South Africa
Also called “Shark Alley”, this beach is known as the world of the great white sharks. It is so filled with sharks that they have actually created shark tours for tourists. Locals claim that visitors have a 99 percent chance of seeing a great white between April to September. In 2011 a man going diving was attacked by two sharks. His body never returned to the surface.
Nazare, Portugal
Also known as “Portugal's Monster”, Nazare is a wonderful vacation destination with some of the biggest and deadliest waves ever surfed. “In Nazare,” a Hawaiian surfer told Time, “the ocean is known as a place of death, not of riding waves.” Nazare's waves are created much larger due to the Nazare Canyon. They are so dangerous that big -wave surfer Maya Gabeira was nearly killed during a wipeout in 2013.

24、 When I was a child, I dreamed of becoming different kinds of people in the future. Sometimes, I wished I was an astronaut going up into space, finding new planets and jumping around in a cool spacesuit. Sometimes, I imagined being a cowboy in the Wild West, wearing cool cowboy boots. On other occasions, I pretended to be a famous footballer, using my skills to score lots of goals for my team.
Looking back, I realize that imagination is a wonderful thing. I was able to create entire environments and scenarios (剧情梗概) in my head, using nothing more than my brain, and make things in my everyday surroundings to fit a story of the day. Growing up with siblings (兄弟姐妹)also helped, as it meant that even bigger stories could be created. We could combine our ideas and put our thoughts into action. It also allowed for more varieties (变化) in the stories, as sometimes I could be a hero while on other occasions, I would be a bad guy.
One of my all-time favorite memories as a kid was playing in my back garden. I played the role of Indiana Jones with my younger sister as my assistant and my brother as a bad person. We used everything in our garden, from the path to the fence, as a part of the storyline to create troubles that needed to be overcome, and we would keep the story going for hours!
My personal favorite game was searching the Easter eggs. My brother hid small chocolate eggs around the garden and my sister and I had to find them by answering questions or solving a puzzle. It was difficult, but finally we found all the eggs and shared them together.
