21、The book, Aliens Ate My Homework, is set in a small town in the United States. By the way the characters talk to each other and the description of items from their daily lives, I think the story takes place within the last 10 years. It is a story about a boy named Rod Allbright who goes to school like any other normal kid. Unfortunately, the class bully(恃强凌弱者) always picks on him because he is overweight. While he’s working on a school project for the science fair, tiny aliens(外星人) come, crashing through his bedroom window in a spaceship. They have come to the earth to get another alien, an evil one named BKR. He is known in other galaxies(星系) for his cruelties. Rod gets bullied throughout the entire novel. The bully’s name is Billy Becker, who is also called BKR! Rod does not discover that Billy is a bad alien until later on.
This book has lots of action and the main character is fun to read about. The most exciting part is when the aliens and Rod find out that BKR is Billy Becker and they skip school and go to search his house. They get caught when BKR comes home from school. He traps them in a storing device where he keeps his alien items. They break free of the device and escape from his house with some difficulty. Rod Allbright is fun to read about because he can never tell a lie. This gets him into trouble when the aliens eat his homework and he can’t make up an excuse for the teacher.
The main idea that the author shares is that there could be other galaxies out in the universe with intelligent life forms who could be almost the same as humans. In this book, the aliens are just like humans in the way they think even though they look different and have a different language. I have learned that if you are nice to people they will be nice in return. This is proven in the book because Rod is nice to the aliens and they return the favor.

22、In the U.S., about 30 million children and teens take part in some forms of organized sports, and more than 3.5 million injuries happen each year. Almost one-third of all injuries from childhood are sports-related injuries. More than 775,000 children, aged 14 and younger, are treated in hospital emergency rooms for sports-related injuries each year.
Obviously, some sports are more dangerous than others. For example, contact sports such as football can be expected to result in a higher number of injuries than a noncontact sport such as swimming. However, all types of sports have a potential for injury, whether from the collision (冲撞) with other players or from overuse or misuse of a body part.
Most of the injuries happen as a result of falls, being struck by an object and collisions during unorganized or informal sports activities. Some are caused by poor training practices, or not warming up enough.
There are two kinds of sports injuries. Acute injuries happen suddenly, such as sprained (扭伤) ankles. Chronic injuries happen after you play a sport or exercise over a long period of time.
Sports injuries are first treated with R-I-C-E: Rest, Ice, Compression (pressure on the injury), and Elevation (raise the injured area above the heart). Doctors will treat more serious injuries with medications, by limiting movement, or by recommending operations, physical therapy, and rest.
You can prevent many kinds of sports injuries by following safe exercise habits.
【1】How does the writer show us the seriousness of sports-related injuries in Para 1?

D.Jim has played basketball for many years and now his back often aches.
【4】What is the passage mainly about?

23、I would neither go abroad nor sign up for a language course to improve my English. I decided to get back to reading books in English. I chose John Irving ’s novel A Widow for One Year which I hadn't read before——neither in Polish nor in any other language.
What was the book like? Very challenging! Especially at the beginning, I had to stop thinking in Polish about what I was reading. It seemed to be quite impossible to read and understand without using a dictionary but then I gradually (逐渐地) began to get it! And that was the moment when the real adventure and fun began. Suddenly I was so much attracted by the wonderful characters and the surprising plot of the novel that I completely forgot about the language I was reading the book in.
I must admit that reading this novel was very useful for me. First of all and to my surprise, I found Irving's way of writing very clear and therefore the book is easy to read. This fact made me feel really satisfied and encouraged to read more books (not only by Irving).
Secondly, when you read a book in English, you will stop thinking in your mother language. It's just as if you were there inside the story, among the characters who speak English with you.
Besides, reading Irving, s novel gave me the opportunity to experience a large number of new words and expressions. I marked some phrases I found particularly interesting and even wrote them down.
【1】What may be the purpose of the passage?
A.To advertise an English book.
B.To share a reading experience.

D.Humorous.
【4】The author felt satisfied and encouraged to read more books because ________.

B.he could think in English
C.Irving's novel is interesting

24、My family lives in Texas. I was born and brought up in Texas and I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. However, around my second year in the law school, I wanted to make a great change, which was almost unheard of for Texans: I wanted to leave!
I realized this after completing my first-year internship (实习期). I knew I wanted something different and my chance came during the 2011 Super Bowl in Dallas. A snowstorm blanketed the entire city in snow and thousands of people were gathered. I overheard that StubHub, a big company from a great city, San Francisco, was throwing a party next door to my hotel. I thought if I could get an internship, I could leave for the summer and at least see what it was like. Yes, it was a huge leap. I told myself I was ready.
There was just one problem: I wasn't invited to the StubHub party. But you know I’m the type of person who goes for something she wants. Needless to say, I crashed the party and found my way to the president. I kindly introduced myself and then asked if they had a legal internship program. Guess what? They accepted my request to be a legal intern, even though no such program existed.
Although the legal department didn't have a permanent position for me, the experience has shaped my life Working for a great company in San Francisco, I’m incredibly happy for making my decision to leave Texas.
