四、阅读理解 (共4题,共 20分)
  • 24、

Many of you have probably had this experience: You get on a train and are ready to have a rest or read a book, only to find that the passenger in front of you is watching a TV show on his tablet without headphones. The child next to you won't stop crying. And the old lady behind you talks on her phone during the whole trip.

Wish the train could be less noisy? ________ The Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, one of China's busiest high-speed rail lines, will have "quiet" carriages(车厢)starting from Dec 23, Xinhua reported.

In quiet carriages, on-board videos will be muted(静音)and announcements will be made at a lower volume. Doors at the ends of the carriage will be kept closed to reduce noise from other carriages, CGTN noted. Train attendants(乘务员)will be responsible for making sure that passengers keep quiet and follow the rules.

Passengers who are willing to follow the rules can choose the quiet carriages when booking their tickets, according to the China's national railway operators.

Some people have pointed out that this kind of quiet environment should be offered in all carriages. They say that having quiet carriages might give people the idea that they don't need to be quiet in non-quiet carriages.

While some internet users are in favor of the new service, it has also hot discussions about just how quiet travelers should be in quiet carriages. Many people have raised questions such as “What if I snore (呼噜)?” and “Can we talk to our travel partners if we need to?”

1How does the writer introduce the topic of the passage?

    A.By telling a story. B.By asking a question.

C.By making a survey. D.By describing an experience.

2In paragraph 2, the best sentence for the blank could be ________.

A.There is still a far way to go

B.There might be a solution for you

C.There are a lot of discussions about it

D.There are many things passengers can do

    3Paragraph 3 mainly tells ________.

A.how to keep the carriage silent

B.when to keep quiet in a carriage

C.who can take the quiet carriage

D.why we should keep quiet in a carriage

4What can we learn from the passage?

A.Normal carriages will be replaced very soon.

B.Passengers need to pay more for the quiet carriage.

C.Snoring and talking to partners are not allowed in the quiet carriage.

D.Passengers should mind their behaviors no matter which carriages they take.

  • 25、To learn anything faster, just remember FAST!

The F in FAST stands for Forget.

If you want to speed up your brain, forget three things.

Forget what you already know about the subject. Your mind only works when it’s open.

Forget about anything that’s not urgent(紧急的)and important. If your brain is thinking about four different things, you’re not fully present—so you won’t learn quickly.

Forget your weakness in learning. Throw your thoughts like your memory isn’t good, or you’re a slow reader. Your memory isn’t fixed, and it is possible to remember more.

The A in FAST stands for .

In school, you learn by being active and creating information. Learning is not just watching and listening. You need to think hard, ask questions and take notes. The more active you are, the more you will learn.

The S in FAST stands for State.

Your state is the condition of your mind and body in that exact moment. All learning depends on your state. Many people don’t remember well at school because they are in a state of being bored. So choose to learn with joy, interest, and curiosity(好奇心).

The T in FAST stands for Teach.

If you want to learn better, try teaching it to somebody else.

If you have to give a talk on what you’re learning today, you would learn it differently. You would pay closer attention, take more careful notes and ask better questions. When you teach something, you get to learn it twice. If you can’t do something, you can teach it, and then you can do it.

【1】How many ways of fast-learning are mentioned in the passage?

    A.Two.

    B.Three.

    C.Four.

    D.Five.

【2】Which of the following can be put in “”?

    A.Action

    B.Active

    C.Accept

    D.Advice

【3】Which of the following shows the meaning of Teach in learning?

    A.Asking somebody for help.

    B.Studying together with others.

    C.Remembering what you have learnt.

D.Telling somebody how you learn it.

【4】The best title for the passage can be ________.

    A.To Learn Faster

    B.To Teach Better

    C.To Be More Careful

    D.To Remember More

  • 26、   Once there was a piano player in a bar (酒吧). People came just to hear him play. But one night, a lady asked him to sing a song.

“I don’t sing,” said the man.

But the lady told the waiter, “I'm tired of listening to the piano. I want the player to sing!”

The waiter shouted across the room, “Hey, friend! If you want to get your money, sing a song!”

So he did. He had never sung in public before. Now he was singing for the very first time! Nobody had ever heard the song Mona Lisa sung so beautifully!

He had talent (天赋) he was sitting on! He may have lived the rest of his life as a no-name piano player in a no-name bar. But once he found, by accident, that he could sing well, he went on working hard and became one of the best-known singers in the US. His name was Nat King Cole.

You, too, have skills and abilities. You may not feel that your talent is great, but it may be better than you think. With hard work, most skills can be improved. Besides, you may have no success at all if you just sit on your talent.

  • 27、Is Technology Changing the Way Kids Develop Relationships?

Technology is redefining(重新定义)the meaning of relationships. For example, technology has enabled people who have never met nor will ever meet to call themselves friends. It makes the line between connections and real friends become unclear.

Because of technology’s omnipresence(遍在;无所不在)in the lives of most children, it is shaping how children feel about and develop relationships without fully consideration of the influence that it has on children’s relationships. Because of this growing influence of technology on them, children need to really understand where they are learning about relationships and whether what they are learning is healthy and will lay the groundwork for a future of positive relationships.

It’s necessary to recognize these changes because relationships play such a central role in who children become and the quality of the lives they lead. Relationships provide children with a foundation of values, love, security, and support. The quality of children’s early relationships acts as the model on which their future relationships are modeled and built. Later relationships with peers, teachers, and other influential people shape children’s beliefs about the world and the direction that their lives will take. In fact, there is no aspect(方面)of children’s lives that remains untouched by relationships.

At the same time, many of the changes in relationships caused by technology have been positive. Technology has also been a good thing to keep already-established(建立) relationships. If you have family or friends who live at a great distance, they no longer have to rely on the telephone or snail mail to stay connected. They can contact through email, texting and so on.

As with all value-neutral(价值中立的)advancements, there are both benefits and costs, positive uses and unhealthy misuses. My worry focuses on how children come to define relationships and the role that technology is playing in that process(过程). For example, I hear many young people talking about all of the “friends” they have made on the web. There’s no doubt that the web has enabled people everywhere to connect and communicate like never before, but I would argue that connection alone can not make a relationship.

1The line between connections and real friends has become unclear because ________.

    A.technology brings new change

B.it’s difficult to find real friends

C.it’s wise to connect with strangers

D.technology gives kids more free time

2What do you know about children’s relationships from the passage?

A.Relationships are easy to develop for children.

    B.Children can understand relationships correctly.

C.Relationships connect with every part of children’s lives.

D.Children’s later relationships are more important than their early ones.

3The writer probably agrees that ________.

A.children can’t make friends on the web

    B.technology is changing children’s lives

    C.technology can’t cause positive influence

D.children dislike the growing influence of technology

4What is the writer’s main purpose in writing this passage?

A.To list the changes in relationships caused by technology.

B.To introduce a new type of relationships in kids’ daily life.

C.To tell the kids to develop their relationships with the help of the technology.

D.To remind the kids of thinking about the influence of technology on their relationships.
