一、翻译题 (共1题,共 5分)
  • 1、阅读下面的短文,将划线部分译成英文或者中文。

Robot scientists say that one-year-old human babies have better movement (动作) skills than robots do. Let’s take a look at some tasks that are easy for kids. 1.但是他们对机器人来说不容易。

Picking things up is not easy. 2.If we drop our pencil on the floor, our brains work hard. First, we must find the pencil and look at its distance (距离). Then we move our hands to it. 3.A robot cannot always move its “hand” to the right place. Calculating the distance is not easy. Then, when we touch the pencil, it might roll (滚动) a little bit. Robots cannot easily understand this either. So, if you drop a pencil on the floor, a robot will probably roll it around the room.

If someone drops you in a new building, you might feel a little lost. 4.But you can look around, find a door and get out quickly. You will not get stuck (困住的) in a corner. But a robot will look everywhere for a door, even on floors. This is because it’s hard for them to understand spaces, such as walls. Scientists need to train them with lots of data to learn this.

“Common sense (常识)” is what we don’t need to think or talk about. Because of it, we do not look for doors on the ceiling. We feel whether it has coffee inside, and whether it is hot. A robot may turn the cup upside down. 5.它可能会握住杯子烫的部分。 Scientists tried to teach robots common-sense rules. Maybe they just need more time to learn.

  • 24、Tests can be stressful. But don’t worry! You’re not alone! Tests have been stressing people out for thousands of years. Here’s one man’s story about test stress.

During the Tang Dynasty (朝代) there was a poor man named Meng Jiao. He loved studying and writing poems. Though his hard work helped him become a talented poet, he needed to make more money. He decided to take the Ke Ju exams. The exams were open for anyone to take. Whoever passed could get an official (官方的) job.

Meng Jiao studied hard for the tests. He took them several times. Each time, he failed. But Meng Jiao never gave up. He studied harder and harder. He took the tests over and over again.

Finally, when he was 46 years old, Meng Jiao passed the test! He was so happy! He put on new clothes. He tied on red flowers to celebrate. Then he rode on a horse through Chang’an City.

During his ride, Meng Jiao wrote a poem. In English, it reads, “Horseback riding swiftly (迅速地) through the spring breeze (微风), while seeing all the flowers of Chang’an in one day.”

Meng Jiao’s poem tells about his feelings on that exciting day. His words describe the feeling of enjoying the flowers and Chang’an City in a day.

  • 25、Brownie and Spotty were neighbor dogs. They loved each other and played together so often that they had made a path (小路) through the grass between their houses.

One evening, Brownie’s family noticed that Brownie hadn’t come home. They went out to look for him but with no success. Brownie didn’t show up the next day, and by the next week, he was still missing.

Spotty went to Brownie’s house alone. He barked loudly. But Brownie’s family were too busy to care about him.

Finally, one morning Spotty refused to take “no” for an answer. He followed Ted, Brownie’s owner, everywhere he went. He barked, then ran toward a nearby empty lot and looked back, as if to say, “Follow me!”

Ted followed the dog across the empty lot. The little dog took the man to a tree a half mile from the house. There Ted found Brownie alive. One of his legs was caught in a trap (夹子). Ted wished he had come earlier.

  • 26、   A 10-year-old girl was on the way home after school. Suddenly, an object fell on her head. It was thrown from a building by an 8-year-old boy. Sounds like a story, doesn't it? Sadly, this actually happened in Nanjing in June. The girt was sent to the hospital.

Similar things have happened in other parts in China. Such heartbreaking cases raised public attention to the risk of injury by falling objects. Lawyers and experts are expecting to see more specific laws to deal with such cases. Under the law, people should pay the victims for the medical care if they hurt others with falling objects. But in many cases, it's hard to find out who is responsible. This makes the situation more difficult because all of those who live in the building could be responsible.

Many people have turned to video cameras as a way to solve the problem. Some areas in Nanjing have used cameras to record objects falling from high buildings. But the cameras can only see the outside of the buildings. There have been other suggestions as well. There should be more quality checks for windows and more efforts to remind the risk of falling objects.

1In the passage, what hurt the girl?

A.A falling tree. B.A falling object C.A passing car. D.A banana peel.

2The underlined word "victims" probably refer to ______.

A.people who are hurt B.people who hurt others

    C.falling objects D.buildings

A.Anyone who lives in a tall building is responsible for falling objects.

B.It's difficult to find out who is responsible for falling objects.

C.People are always hit by falling objects.

D.People should learn how to avoid falling objects.
