24、What does it mean to be green? Green is more than just a color. It also means taking special steps to protect the environment. Buying a green product is a small step everyone can take. Deciding whether a product is green, however, isn't always easy. Here is what we may keep in mind.
The materials of a product are usually our first focus(关注). What is it made of? Are there any harmful chemicals in it? Green products are made of more natural materials.
Packaging(外包装) is important. How is a product packaged? Is it over packaged? We'd better choose glass, metal and paper packaging.
Location(地点) matters. Where was a product produced? Where are we buying it? Try to choose local products. It is a good idea to order directly from local farmer, shop at markets.
Look into what the company tells us about their product. It's easy to say that a product is “green” or “all natural”, but the words may be too good to be true. After all, companies try to make us believe that their products are environmentally responsible.
The greenest thing is certainly the one we don't buy. Things like food and clothing are necessary for life. But many others are not. Better than buying is keeping money in our pockets, reduces(减少)waste and keeps the planet healthy.

25、 F. Scott Fitzgerald, born on September 24, 1896, an American novelist, was once a student of St. Paul Academy, the Newman School and attended Princeton University for a short while. In 1917 he joined the army and was posted in Alabama, where he met his future wife Zelda Sayre. Then he had to make some money to impress her.
His life with her was full of great happiness, as he wrote in his diary: “My own happiness in the past often got such joy that I could not share it even with the person dearest to me but had to walk it away in quiet streets and take down parts of it in my diary.”
This side of paradise, his first novel, was published in 1920. Encouraged by its success, Fitzgerald began to devote more time to his writing. Then he continued with the novel the Beautiful and Damned (1922), a collection of short stories Thales of the Jazz Age (1922), and a play The Vegetable (1923). But his greatest success was the novel The Great Gatsby, published in 1925, which quick brought him praise from the literary world. Yet it failed to give him the needed financial security. Then, in 1926, he published another collection of short stories All the Sad Young Men.
However, Fitzgerald’s problems with his wife Zelda had an effect on his writing. During the 1920s he tried to reorder his life, but failed. By 1930, his wife had her first breakdown and went to a Swiss clinic. During this period he completed novels Tender Is the Night in 1934 and The love of the last Tycoon in 1940. While his wife was in hospital in the United States, he got totally addicted to (沉迷于) alcohol. Sheila Graham, his dear friend, helped him fight his alcoholism.

26、With more and more cars on the road, the traffic jam will happen. How do we see it and how can we solve the problem?
We know that the traffic jam happens in many places, especially in big cities. What are reasons for the problem? On one hand, some people think that they should have a car when they have enough money, and then it's easy to go out and they can feel comfortable. On the other hand, a growing number of people hope to use their cars to show off (炫耀). What's more, years of research has shown that one of other reasons for the traffic jam is the driving habit. For example, many young people enjoy driving very fast, so they can feel excited. At last, most of them hardly care about the speed (速度) rules.
Many governments are working at how to make the traffic better. In my opinion, firstly, the governments should educate those people who have cars or plan to buy cars. The governments must make them know that the traffic jam is very serious, and set up a much more perfect traffic system (体系) to solve the traffic pressure.

C. The reason for the traffic jam is that some people want to show off.
D. Some people think that they should have a car when they have enough money, and then it's easy to go out and they can feel comfortable
【4】What should the governments do to make the traffic better?
A. They should educate those people who are young.
B. They should set up a much more perfect traffic system.
C. They shouldn't allow people to buy so many cars.
D. They should hardly care about the speed rules.
【5】What does the passage mainly talk about?
