In Miluo, the junior high school graduates have to take a P.E. test in many schools. The full marks are usually 100 points and it counts for much in the senior high school entrance exam. 1 因为对青少年而言,保持健康是非常重要的。
In Miluo the test is often held in May. Students have the test in their own school. Each student is tested on three sports. They can choose different items. They can choose long jump, run or skip. The pull-up is for boys and girls can choose sit-up. Both boys and girls must skip(跳绳) in the test, 2 所以,学生们需要花大量的时间练习跳绳。They have fun skipping.
3 Most students find the test easy and more than 90% of them can get full marks. That’s because they have been training for it during the three whole years. Students in Junior Three usually do lots of practice in P.E. classes. 4The training makes the test easier than it seems to be. In P.E. classes, they usually run a lot. Sometimes they have to run 3,000 meters in one class. Some students are tired of running, 5 they don’t think running is the most necessary sport for teens. They should be allowed to choose their favorite sports, such as long jump or dancing. But most teachers and parents welcome the P.E. test. They say it helps students build up their health.

25、A live-streaming App that monitors (监控) students in classrooms in some middle schools has raised a lot of online discussion. It was reported that anyone who uses the App DingTalk could see inside classrooms. Some parents have praised the App for giving them the chance to monitor their children, while others are worried about privacy (隐私) problems. The newspaper Shanghai Star did a survey. Here are some replies they received.
Zhang Xiaoru, 16 I strongly support this App. Nowadays, children play an important role in the whole family, and parents always want to care for their children, wherever they are. This new platform helps parents see what their children are doing in classes. It’s also a good way to make students behave themselves in school. |
Du Yina, 15 I’m in favor of this app if parents get their children’s permission (准许) first. The App could help parents know children’s bad habits. It could also be used as a tool to prevent being hurt. However, parents should get their permission first to protect their privacy. |
Zhao Xuehan, 16 I think this App is a bad idea. Schools should be a pleasant and relaxing place for students to study and play. But we will feel uncomfortable if cameras are watching us all the time. We should pay attention to our privacy. Our lives shouldn’t be watched by the public. |
Zhang Liliang, 15 Any form of privacy invasion (侵犯) shouldn’t be allowed. Although some parents want to know more about their children, they should do it in a better way. Being under the eye of strangers is too dangerous. |

26、Hello, I’m Rob. Welcome to our programme. Today we’re talking about high-speed train travel. Many countries have very fast trains that transport people from city to city in super-quick time. Yes, high-speed train travel is becoming popular. Well, we’ll be finding out why the UK is hoping to do something that is already popular by building a new high-speed rail line.
We know that high-speed train travel has many good things. It helps to take traffic off the road, it causes less pollution, it can move lots of people and it’s quick. Yes, speed is important. Now, the TGV train in France takes about three hours to travel over 750 kilometres from Paris to Marseille in the south - very impressive.
But the UK has been slow to build high-speed rail lines. It has one from London to Paris, but the Transport Secretary, Patrick McLoughlin, thinks one line is not good enough. People can go from London to Paris on high-speed trains, but can’t go from London to Birmingham. That means you can get to Paris by train more quickly than you can travel to many British cities. The government wants to build another one — called HS2 — connecting London to the middle and north of England.
But not everyone agrees to the plan and there is much discussion. Some say it will be very expensive to build, although some experts(专家)say for every 1 pound spent, it will bring 2 pounds back. There are also worries that some of the countrysides will be destroyed. It could be a long time before a final decision is made. So now we’ll just have to accept that our trains in the UK will carry on at an unhurried speed while we watch with envy as another country’s high-speed train passes us by!
Thank you. We hope you’ve enjoyed today’s programme.

A.It is slow.

A.It will be completed soon.
B.It is not a good idea.
C.It destroys the environment.
D.It may take a long time.
27、 Soon computers and other machines will be able to remember you by looking at your eyes! The program works because everyone’s eyes are different. So in the future you won’t have to remember a number when you want to use a machine or take money out of a bank. You’ll just have to look at the machine and it will be able to tell who you are.
The eye-recognition(眼睛识别) program is already being tested in shops and banks in the USA, Britain and France. Soon, this technology(技术) will change all other ways of finding out who people are.
However, scientists are working on other systems. Machines will soon be able to know you from the shape of your face or hands or even your smell! We already have machines that can tell who you are from your voice or the mark made by your fingers.
Eye-recognition is better than other kinds because your eyes don’t change as you get older, or get dirty like hands or fingers. And even twins have different eyes, so the program can be up to 94% correct, depending on how good the technology is. Some programs may only be right 51% of the time. In Britain, it was found that 91% of people who had tried it said that they liked the idea of eye-recognition.
In the future your computer will be looking at you in the eye. So smile!
【1】 What is the advantage of using the eye-recognition program?
A. You needn’t use a machine.
B. You needn’t remember a number.
C. You needn’t look at the machine.
D. You needn’t take some money with you.
【2】How does the eye-recognition program work?
A. You type in your number.
B. You show your ID card.
C. You look at the machine.
D. You say your name.
【3】Why can the eye-recognition program be up to 94% correct?
A. Because eyes hardly change.
B. Because hands or fingers can get dirty.
C. Because people like the idea of the program.
D. Because the program is widely used around the world.
【4】Which of the following is TRUE?
A. The program is being tested in Japan.
B. Computers can remember you by looking at your clothes.
C. 91% of people in Britain don’t like the idea of the eye-recognition program.
D. Machines with other systems will also tell who you are in the future.
