21、Jim Davis is an American cartoonist (漫画家), best known as creating the highly successful comic strip Garfleld, which has been shown since 1978 and grew to become the most well-known comic strip in the world.
Davis was born in Mario, Indiana on July 28, 1945. He grew up on a small farm with his father, mother, brother and 25 cats.
Davis attended Ball State School where he studied art and was known for getting the lowest scores in the history of the school.
Before creating Garfield, Davis worked for a local advertisement company. After that, he started his own company Paws, Inc. in 1981 in Muncie, Indiana, where he and his workers continued to produce things about Garfield. 23、Nowadays, people often go to another country to study or to work. Many find it difficult to adapt (适应), though. According to the study, up to 70% of adults experience homesickness (想家的) at some point in their daily life.
Almost anything can cause homesickness — a smell, a taste, even a color can make them think of home.
