24、 I’m definitely a morning person. I’ve realized how much I can actually get done first things in the morning, between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. That, for me, is the sweet spot. I honestly get more done in those two hours than I often do the rest(其余的)of the day. I’ve developed a habit that helps me be productive(效率)and it includes what I call the law(定律)of first things. This same law is followed by people far more productive than I am, including Bill Gates, Howard Schultz and Jeff Bezos.
Essentially, the law of first things says that whatever you do when you first get up in the morning influences your productivity for the rest of the day. For many of the most productive people, that first thing is often not work. And it shouldn’t be for you either.
Let’s consider the morning habits of these highly productive people. Bill Gates says he starts his day on the treadmill(跑步机),watching educational DVDs. Howard Schultz likes to get up early to exercise, often cycling, before getting started with work. Jeff Bezos, famously, prefers to not have business meetings until around 10 a.m., instead, he makes time for other things at home first.
Most of us get out of bed, pick up our phone and immediately start reading emails or our news feeds. That means that from the moment we wake up, we’re already responding(回应) to the outside world instead of creating space for ourselves to allow our bodies and our minds to practice.
That space matters, and whatever you do first sets the direction you go throughout your day. If that thing is responding to an email from someone who feels it is important, you may never get back to the important things you need to do. You should start your day with something other than work. You might end up surprised by how much you get done.
【1】Why does the writer think he’s a morning person?
A.He finishes all his work in the morning.
B.He has a lot of work to do in the morning.
C.He does things more productively in the morning.
D.He’d always like to do some exercise in the morning,

D.We should learn to use the first hours of the day wisely.
25、Everyone has got two personalities (性格)—the one that is shown to the world and the other that is secret and real. You don’t show your secret personality when you're awake because you can control yourself, but when you're asleep, your sleeping position shows the real you. In a normal night, of course, you often change your sleeping positions. The important position that best shows your secret personality is the one that you go to sleep.
If you go to sleep on your back, you're a very open person. You normally trust people and you are easily influenced by new ideas. You don’t like to make people unhappy, so you never express your real feelings. You're quite shy and you aren't very confident.
If you sleep on your stomach, you are a person who likes to keep secrets. You worry a lot and you're always easily becoming sad. You never want to change your ideas, but you are satisfied with your life the way it is. You usually live for today not for tomorrow.
If you sleep on curled up (蜷缩) , you are probably a very nervous person. You have a low opinion of yourself and often protect yourself from being hurt, so you are very defensive. You're shy and you don't usually like meeting people. You like to be on your own.
If you sleep on your side, you have usually got a well-balanced (平衡的) personality. You know your strengths and weaknesses. You're usually careful. You have a confident personality. You sometimes feel worried, but you don't often get unhappy. You always say what you think, even if it makes people angry.

Ask Angela
Many newspapers have an advice page. So does the school newspaper of Xinhan Middle School. Angela Wang is the editor responsible for the page. Students like to write to her for advice.
Dear Angela,
I’m 16 and I want to leave school this year. My parents say it is too early and that I should be trying to get into high school. I want to work at McDonald’s. Then I can start earning money to buy things.
Jane
Dear Jane,
Your parents are right. It would be better if you can complete as much of your education as possible. Real independence won’t come from earning 150 yuan a week. It will come from the qualifications(资历、学历)and experience that you would gain by staying at school for a couple more years.
Angela
Dear Angela,
My parents and I have been fighting a lot recently. I’m 16, but they still treat me like a kid. My mom calls me 20 times if I don’t get home before 7 p.m. I tried talking to them about this, but they never change. What can I do?
Jim
Dear Jim,
Being angry and standing against your parents will not solve the problem. Try communicating with them from their point of view. Make a list of things you wish to do and another list of your parents’ possible concerns about them. Let your parents know you have learned to be responsible for yourself.
Angela
Dear Angela,
I am having an issue with my Chemistry teacher. She is super nice to my classmates but behaves completely differently towards me. She blames me for things I didn’t do. What should I do?
Mike
Dear Mike,
In a situation like this, you’d better speak to the teacher directly. This way, you can understand why she has a different attitude towards you. Our personal bias(偏见)might influence our thoughts about other people. Make sure the way you feel the teacher treats you isn’t influenced by any bias.

It’s OK. Calm down. You can’t visit many public spaces right now, but you can use your phone immediately to do it virtually(虚拟). Many online entertainment resources have been launched to help stay-at-home visitors have fun free of charge, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Online exhibitions
Last year, the Palace Museum released a program called the Panoramic Palace Museum on its official website. By putting on a virtual reality (VR) headset, people can take a “tour” of the 600-year-old museum, going slowly without a time limit. This means you can explore its halls, gardens and courtyards and learn about the stories behind the exhibits .
“During a field visit to the Palace Museum, it is difficult to visit some hidden places and view all the palace decorations in detail,” Li Bin, a museum lover from Xi’an, told China Daily. “But VR technology has made these experiences possible. It helps me beat the boredom at home.”
According to Xinhua, a total of 30 museums across China have provided similar online exhibitions to people.
Live streamed concert
Chinese video app Bilibili launched a series of music events for stuck-at-home people. The company teamed up with the yearly Strawberry Music Festival to create the Stay at Home Strawberry concert series, with a theme of “Hi, I’m at home too.” The series was live streamed free of charge from Feb 4 to Feb 8, on Bilibili.
During this period, audiences could participate in the website’s bullet chat, sharing comments onscreen in real time.
