21、 In China, some parents do almost everything for their children these days. They look on their older children or sometimes even adults as babies! It is a very common problem in China, because most parents only have one child.
Some parents don’t let children do chores or go anywhere by themselves. As a result, their children can’t do anything by themselves and have to depend more on them.
In fact, no children really enjoy being looked after by their parents all the time. No parents would be happy to know that. As a result of too much care, their children don’t know anything about the world! Children need their own time to grow into adults and to learn how to deal with problems. Too much care spoils(破坏)their fun when they are growing up. And when suddenly they can’t depend on their parents, these children may be in great trouble.
It is nice that parents show their care to their children, it is nice that children know that their parents’ love is out of love, and it will be nicer if the children let their parents know how much love they really need, and how much love is too much.

22、 My mother is a teacher, and I grew up with the challenges a teacher faces. I often asked her,” Why do you teach? What keeps you teaching? "The answer was always the same." There is always that one child, that one moment that is worth it.”
Now, I am a teacher, too. But different from my mother, I teach students challenging activities outdoors. And when my mother asked me the similar questions, my answer was, "It's that one child, that one special moment.”
One of those moments happened recently. I was working with a group of girls in a four-week programme. Everything went on well through the "Team" events and we were moving on to a "High" one called the Wire(钢索)Walk. In the Wire Walk, each girl had to climb up the pegs(木桩)in a tree to a wire, 8 meters high, and then walk across it. Of course, everything was safe for sure. When I asked who would try, a few girls raised their hands, and they finished the Wire Walk with little difficulty.
But when it was Susie’s turn, it seemed that she didn’t really want to. I asked Susie if she was ready. She Answered softly, “I suppose.”
Now, Susie was at the foot of the tree. She started to make the long reach for the first peg. The other girls cheered for her. Then I found Susie was becoming nervous with every step. I realized she would not go much further.
Susie was halfway up. Then she stopped and held the tree tight, looking very afraid. Her eyes were closed. With her face against the tree, she cried, “I can’t.”
The other girls sat in silence. I talked quietly to Susie, trying to relax her. I talked for a long time till I ran out of words.
“I will still be your friend no matter what, Susie!" Mary broke the silence.
To my surprise, Susie lifted her head and looked up to the wire. Then she turned to look down at Mary and smiled. Mary smiled back.
Finally, Susie made it all the way across that wire. When she returned to the ground, the first hug she looked for was from Mary. We all cheered.
Moments like this keep me doing what I do. The young hearts continue to fill me with courage.

Nine-year-old Regina, from Scotland, has always loved taking photos. When she was just three, she picked up her father, Kevin’s camera, and asked him how it worked. But rather than just being a curious (好奇的) child or a girl with an inability to leave anything alone, Regina is in fact a professional wedding (婚礼) photographer.
“Regina became interested in photography at a very young age,” her father, and fellow professional photographer, Kevin, tells Daily Mail Australia. “She first started asking questions about how to use my cameras. Regina has never been on a training course,” He goes on to explain that he has never forced his daughter to take photos like her dad does for his job. “I just answer questions when she asks them, and when she wants to do some shooting she can. Over the years she’s tagged along to quite a lot of shoots, so her skills just grew through experience.”
These skills reached the highest point on April 15 this year, when Regina shot over 400 photos at her first wedding. “She completely loved it,” Kevin said. “She is quite a quiet girl, but when she has that camera in her hands she is super-confident, and had no problem dealing with people or setting up shots throughout the day. Regina’s next wedding is on July 1 and several of my other brides have called to ask if she can come along as they love her work. I honestly don’t have words to describe how proud I feel,” he concluded.
“In the past, Regina said a few times that she just wants to keep it as a hobby,” said Kevin. “But over the past few days, upon seeing some of the response her work has got and some of the nice messages she’s received from people all over the world, she has said she might like doing this when she’s older.”

24、My name is Sally. When I was ten years old, I had a lot of friends. But looking back now, my best friend was someone I never really thought of as my friend, Rina.
Rina is four years older than I. She and I used to live in the same neighborhood. She went to an art and dance school in the city. Every afternoon when I played in the yard (院子) with my brother Kevin, I would see her walking home from the train station.
During the weekend, there was always something to do, thanks to Rina. She was good at drawing, so she would teach me and my brother how to draw. She also made up amazing games with interesting characters for us to play. Sometimes, Kevin taught Rina and me basketball and I taught them guitar.
One day, I was sitting in the yard. It was my birthday, but I was sad. Rina appeared and gave me a CD and a picture she had drawn for me. I was really surprised. To this day, I still don’t know how Rina remembered my birthday, but I’m glad she did.
Now I’m seventeen and I’m in high school. When I get home from the train station, I always see Alex, the little boy who lives down the street, and his sister Jenny. Sometimes I make up games for them to play. And sometimes I teach them how to draw. I’m happy to watch Alex and Jenny laugh and play. It reminds me of Rina, a girl who left many wonderful memories (回忆) in my heart.
