一、翻译题 (共1题,共 5分)
  • 1、阅读下面的短文,将划线部分译成英文或者中文。

Robot scientists say that one-year-old human babies have better movement (动作) skills than robots do. Let’s take a look at some tasks that are easy for kids. 1.但是他们对机器人来说不容易。

Picking things up is not easy. 2.If we drop our pencil on the floor, our brains work hard. First, we must find the pencil and look at its distance (距离). Then we move our hands to it. 3.A robot cannot always move its “hand” to the right place. Calculating the distance is not easy. Then, when we touch the pencil, it might roll (滚动) a little bit. Robots cannot easily understand this either. So, if you drop a pencil on the floor, a robot will probably roll it around the room.

If someone drops you in a new building, you might feel a little lost. 4.But you can look around, find a door and get out quickly. You will not get stuck (困住的) in a corner. But a robot will look everywhere for a door, even on floors. This is because it’s hard for them to understand spaces, such as walls. Scientists need to train them with lots of data to learn this.

“Common sense (常识)” is what we don’t need to think or talk about. Because of it, we do not look for doors on the ceiling. We feel whether it has coffee inside, and whether it is hot. A robot may turn the cup upside down. 5.它可能会握住杯子烫的部分。 Scientists tried to teach robots common-sense rules. Maybe they just need more time to learn.

  • 26、Mistakes are great teachers. Success comes to those who are willing to risk making mistakes to achieve their goals and wishes, and who are able to learn from those mistakes. And in order to learn from mistakes , you must be willing to pay for them .

Mistakes can be very valuable, but when you try to get others to pay for your mistakes, then you lose the chance to learn from them. When something goes wrong, it's usually very easy to find someone else’s mistakes, but is that useful?

Much of the value of mistakes comes from the fact that they need a cost that must be paid. The person who learns the most from a mistake is the one who pays the price for that mistake.

When you make a mistake, what you shouldn’t do is to run away from it. You need to accept it because you can learn a lot from it. The mistake has been made, so make the most of it. Pay the price, learn the lesson, and grow that much stronger.

When you make a mistake, don't look back at it long. Remember the causes , and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The present is still in your power. Make full use of your mistakes to achieve your goals and wishes.

As a teenager, I hated PE lessons. I was not very good at sports, and I hated team sports because I always felt like I was disappointing the rest of the team. During these years, I sometimes felt disconnected from my body like only my brain was "me" and my body was just a vehicle (运载工具)for carrying my brain around.

When I started university, I decided to try a kung fu club. To my surprise, I loved it! In my first year, most of us were beginners. I used to go two or three times a week. Because it is not a team sport, I didn't feel sorry about not being very good. And because it is a combat(格斗)sport, you train in pairs, which means that you get to meet people and talk to them. I also appreciated(欣赏)that the focus of the classes was on getting better at kung fu, rather than exercising to change my body. When I was doing kung fu, my body changed—I got stronger and quicker—but the changes were a side effect of the sport, instead of the goal.

When I moved to Italy this year, I decided to start doing a combat sport again. I joined a local martial arts(武术)club and I loved it. We did lots of sparring(拳击). I think that sparring is like chess, but much faster and much more fun! If your sparring partner tries to hit you hard with his fist, you have to move quickly to avoid him, block or even catch his arm and then throw him to the mat.

When I was a teenager, I would say I just wasn't a sporty person and that I just didn't like sport and never would. Now I think that everyone should try as many sports as possible because I believe there is something out there for everyone! I feel connected to my body and I am happier and have more energy when I have been doing sport.

1Why did the writer hate PE lessons when he was a teenager?

A.Because he was not very good at sports.

B.Because his teammates were not friendly.

C.Because he couldn't understand his PE teacher.

D.Because there was something wrong with his body.

2What club did the writer go to when he was at university?

A.A martial arts club. B.A chess club.

C.A kung fu club. D.A boxing club.

3How did the writer become a sporty person?

A.He set a goal to get stronger.

    B.He played many team sports.

C.He did fast and fun sports every day.

D.He tried and found the right sport for him.
