For light sleepers
Millions of people have trouble falling asleep each night, which is why Light Sleeper was created.
Developed in the United Kingdom, Light Sleeper's makers say it can help a person fall asleep and also help a person fall back to sleep after waking up in the middle of the night.
Light Sleeper works by projecting (投射) a light onto the ceiling while the person is lying down. The idea is to watch the light, because the light moving in a circle has a relaxing effect.
One of the advantages of the product is that it won't disturb other people in the room. The product can be easily moved and will switch itself off after 30 minutes to save power.
Stop the snoring (打鼾)
Here's a new product designed to slow down the frequency and level of your snoring. The Snore Stopper has a sensitive instrument that will detect when you're snoring. Once it does that, it will send a very mild electronic signal to your wrist. This consequently changes your sleeping position to stop you from snoring. The Snore Stopper; won't cause any damage to your body.
Get your true colors
Photoshop features a pen that will copy the color settings of what you are monitoring onscreen to use as a color in your program. Now an off-line product allows you to pick a color when not using the computer software.
The Color Picker is a concept pen. After placing the pen against an object, the user just presses the scan button. Color sensors (感应器) inside the pen send information to a box, which then mixes red, green and blue to produce the desired ink color.

22、Kazunori Takishima has been traveling the world to support Japan at every Olympic Games for the past 15 years, so he intended to see the event in his home city of Tokyo. But when a ban on audience was announced, that dream was over.
He had spent nearly $40,000 on 197 tickets for him and his friends to see as many events as possible during Tokyo 2020, which started on July 23.
“It took an unbelievable amount of time, effort, and passion,” Takishima told CNN. “But I was so passionate about the Olympics that even though it was very difficult and challenging, I enjoyed the process of buying the tickets.”
The 45-year-old businessman worked out that if he watched all the events he had booked, he would have broken the Guinness World Record for attendance at Olympic events. He got a refund (退款) on the tickets he had purchased.
Takishima’s love for the Olympics started in 2005 when he saw a figure skating competition for the first time and immediately bought tickets for the 2006 Torino Olympics in Italy. He was infatuated. It inspired him so much that he has been going to the Olympics ever since.
But this year, only members of the media and the selected people were allowed to watch the events. The decision by Olympic officials to ban audience was designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“And it’s the athletes that will suffer the most from the lack of support in the stands,” Takishima said.
“It’s a great loss when your family can’t come,” Takishima said. “So I hope everyone will at least cheer for them in front of the TV.”
Despite his disappointment, he said the experience wouldn’t stop him from being an Olympic superfan. “I will continue to visit and support the Olympics until the day I die,” Takishima said. “While I’m still able to move, I plan to see all the Games from the opening to the closing ceremonies.”

24、When robots appear to engage with people and display human-like emotions, people may think of them as capable of “thinking”, or acting on their own beliefs and desires rather than their programs, according to the research published by the American Psychological Association.
“The relationship between human-like shape, human-like behavior and the tendency to attribute (把……归因于) independent thought and intentional behavior to robots is yet to be understood,” said study author Agnieszka Wykowska, PhD, a principal investigator at the Italian Institute of Technology. “As artificial intelligence increasingly becomes a part of our lives, it is important to understand how interacting with a robot that displays human-like behaviors might cause higher likelihood of attribution of intentional agency to the robot.”
Across three experiments involving 119 participants, researchers examined how individuals would see a human-like robot, the iCub, after socializing with it and watching videos together. Before and after interacting with the robot, participants completed a questionnaire that showed them pictures of the robot in different situations and asked then to choose whether the robot’s motivation in each situation was mechanical or intentional.
The researchers found that participants who watched videos with the human-like robot were more likely to rate the robot’s actions as intentional, rather than programmed, while those who only interacted with the machine-like robot were not. This shows that mere exposure to a human-like robot is not enough to make people believe it is capable of thoughts and emotions. It is human-like behavior that might be crucial for being deemed as an intentional agent.
According to Wykowska, these findings show that people might be more likely to believe artificial intelligence is capable of independent thought when it creates the impression that it can behave just like humans. “This could inform the design of social robots of the future,” she said.
