24、 In students' daily talks, celebrities(名人)are usually a hot topic, including their dress, behavior, families and other personal things. Then, is it a celebrity's job to be a good role model? Please read the following students' debate.
It's a celebrity's job to be a good role model because people usually look up to stars. If a celebrity drinks and smokes, his fans will follow him because they look up to the celebrity so much. If a celebrity's lifestyle is inappropriate for kids, then their parents should be more careful about what they let their kids see. | A celebrity doesn't have to try to be a good role model. They are famous because they worked hard at what they love for a living. They should, however, try to make good choices for themselves, not their fans. Lots of stars have to post apology(道歉)letters after being caught doing bad things. It's good, but if the only reason they do is to win back their fans, it's not good.
I think everyone should try to be a good role model, even if you are not a celebrity! You can still be a role model to your sisters and brothers, a younger neighbour, or anyone. But I think celebrities should be very good, because they are role models for so many people! | Although it is a wonderful thing to be a good role model, that's not what the celebrities must do. They are famous because they love what they do and are good at it. Being a role model is never in the job. If the celebrity knows they are affecting the young people, they should try hard to set a good example.

B.Stars may sometimes do something wrong.
C.Family members should encourage kids to be stars.

26、 A blog posted Dec 7, 2018 at 12:17 PM by Alanna Mallon Alanna Mallon is a Cambridge City Councilor.
Each year in November, I receive a lot of emails and texts from friends who want to volunteer with their families on Thanksgiving as a way to give back. I also field phone calls from organizations who want to donate ( 捐赠 ) to local programs that provide Thanksgiving meals.
However, as an official who still works in the nonprofit sector (非盈利部门), I also feel deeply anxious (焦急的) because I know the other 51 weeks of the year, these key programs that provide food to residents (居民) in need are eager for both volunteers and donations. Hunger is a year round problem, and each week volunteers are the necessary part to make sure that programs are able to serve the community.
At Food For Free, we depend on about 100 volunteers per week, and each of those volunteers is extremely important to providing fresh, healthy food to people in the Greater Boston area who need it. School children who take backpacks of food home on Fridays, community college students who depend on our Family Meals program to support their healthy growth, elderly and disabled residents who receive twice monthly deliveries of food to their doors through our Home Delivery program, they all depend on us making sure enough volunteers show up to do the work.
These volunteers don't show up in your social media system, they don't win prizes and no one writes about them in the local newspapers. But they are heroes. And you can be too. If everyone made a promise to volunteer once a month, or even once a quarter, I know that we could reduce some of the anxiety these organizations feel, as a more trust-worthy volunteer network allows them to focus on helping people, not filling volunteer positions.
Here is a list of a few organizations who are doing important work in Cambridge to make sure the food to be safe. Offer your time to an organization, they will be deeply grateful, and I am quite sure that you will feel pretty good about yourself too.

27、Nearly half of elementary and high schools in the US use the Presidential Fitness Test. It checks kids’ fitness levels. Students are tested at least twice a year. In 1956, US President Eisenhower created the test, and it has been a tradition in schools since 1966.
There are five activities in the test: sit-ups, push-ups , sit and reach, endurance run or walk and shuttle run(折返跑). Students who get scores at or above 85 percent on all the activities can get a Presidential Physical Fitness Award.

As an exchange student, I have lived in China over the years. China【1】 (change) a lot in the years since I first moved here. One major development has been the wide use of cashless payment (无现金支付). China is hardly the first country to have cashless payment. I used a debit card (借记卡) 【2】(pay) for things without cash for years in the US. But now I use my phone here instead, it’s very easy and convenient. One of the things I like most is that I can send and receive money directly among my friends. Cashless payment makes it so much easier to share the bill when we eat out together. And I 【3】(make)donations simply as well. For example, I often give away money to Animal Helpers by 【4】 (use) its QR code(二维码).
But cashless payment【5】(have) some problems as well. What will happen if your phone 【6】(steal)? There are also times when your phone’s mobile internet connection might not work.
