25、Special Game
①The FIFA World Cup was held in Qatar last Sunday, Nov. 20. It’s the world’s biggest international soccer tournament (锦标赛) and also the most-watched sporting event in the world. There are 32 teams competing to win. This year’s tournament looks so special. What makes it different from the ones before?
②First, it’s the first time the tournament has been held in the Middle East after Qatar beat other host competitors— the US, South Korea, Japan and Australia back in 2010. It’s also the first time in history the tournament is taking place during the Northern Hemisphere (北半球) winter months, from Nov 20 to Dec 18. My year abroad in the United States was a fantastic experience. I’m not a shy person, and I was very comfortable speaking to everyone. So I got lots of speaking practice. 27、How to Be a Better Student
Maybe you are a common student. You probably think you will never be a top student. This is not necessary so, however. Anyone can become a better student if he or she wants to. Here's how:
Plan your time carefully. When you plan your week, you should make a list of things that you have to do. After making this list, you should make a schedule of your time. Develop a good attitude about tests. The purpose of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject. They help you remember your new knowledge. The world won't end if you don't pass a test, so don’t be over worried.
