24、Xiao Yu got diabetes（糖尿病）when she was only 8. Ever since, she has had to give herself insulin（胰岛素）, “insulin saves my life”, she explained to the Yangtse Evening Post.
This year is the 100th anniversary（纪念日）of the discovery of insulin. Before 1921, children and adults with diabetes most often died within a few days or months. Insulin helps them live longer.
Back in the 16th century BC, there were records about this “terrible disease”. People felt sick and thirsty, and urinate（排尿）, and then died in pain. These were all caused by high levels of blood sugar. For thousands of years, humans didn’t know how to deal with it. This changed in the 1880s. Soon after, he successfully took out insulin from a dog and used it to treat another dog with diabetes. To his surprise, Ranting and Scottish scientist John Macleod made a better form of insulin. 27、If you don’t quite fit in among the morning people or night owls（猫头鹰）, well, you might soon have your own sleep type. Now, researchers add two more types; the afternoon people and the nappers（睡午觉的人）.
A group of researchers in Belgium did a short online survey to over 1,300 people, aged 12 to 90, asking them questions about their sleep habits and tiredness levels throughout the day.
