Many people find good friends but they fail to continue with their friendship, because they do not know their role as a friend. Let us see some important points that we should take care of if we wish to be a good friend for someone.
Try to understand your friend
1. It is always important to understand what your friend is worried about or what problem he is facing. Always try to understand the situation your friend is in and try to calm him. It is obvious that 2.如果人们有问题,他们可能不会把问题告诉家人或亲属,they will instead tell everything to their friends. Let your friend speak up. 3. Listen to him and be with him until your friend feels better.
Try to teach good things
If you are a true friend, you should never give your hungry friend a fish, instead, you should teach him how to fish. This will give your friend food for lifetime. 4. 一个好朋友应该永远不希望他的朋友依赖他人。
Let your friend be himself
5. The most important point is that your friend has his own life and you should not make trouble in his life. You have a right to tell your friend what is good and what is bad, but you do not have a right to make someone do what you wish.
Hope this will help you solve some of your problems you are facing in friendship.

24、 First aid is a very useful skill to have. By learning it, you could save someone’s life in the unexpected situation. But in China, less than one percent of adults have first aid skills, according to the communication website.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has realized this. On August 24, it issued (发布) a statement along with the Red Cross Society of China. It has asked all public schools in China to provide first aid courses, including CPR (心肺复苏) training, as part of their health classes. Then, how does CPR help? CPR is an important first aid skill that can save victims (受害者) of the cardiac arrest (心搏停止). The first few minutes are very important. If CPR is correctly performed on the victim within the first four to six minutes, the victim will have a better chance to survive. So Chinese students should learn how to do CPR.
A survey from the Development Research Center of the State Council shows that 64.6 percent of schools already have these courses. However, the results are not good. According to MOE’s statement, future results are expected to be better.
Other countries have also made efforts to provide first aid training for their people. In 1966, the US government said police officers, firefighters (消防员), middle school teachers and college teachers must receive CPR training. A 2017 survey showed that 65 percent of Americans had received CPR training. In Switzerland, all people are asked to learn first aid skills. In Germany, 80 percent of people have received first aid training.

25、Are you the person sitting in the corner of the classroom during the break time hoping no one will come up and talk to you? If this sounds like you, you are not alone. If you want to become more socially confident follow the advice.
Accept your personality. Many people happen to be introverted, meaning that you’re more comfortable spending time alone. If this sounds like you, don’t force yourself to completely become an outgoing, social person. Doing so can lead to stress, worry, and even heart disease. Instead, spend time in social situations you already enjoy and try to have meaningful conversations. By accepting your introverted nature, you can focus on the quality of your social communications.
Understand the importance of confidence. You can become socially confident by attracting other people in a way that interests them and makes them feel heard. These skills are known as social ability. Practicing social ability can create chances for yourself to get close to others.
Avoid negative (消极的) thoughts. If you don’t see yourself as socially confident, it can be easy to look for things that confirms your thoughts. Catch yourself thinking negative thoughts, and ask yourself what you see or hear can prove the thought. For example, imagine you’re thinking, “I know everyone here thinks I’m boring because I have nothing interesting to say.” Stop thinking that and ask yourself what proves the negative thought.

26、 After a busy morning at work, lunchtime gives me a chance to do many things, such as exercise, read or watch TV. One cultural difference I've noticed between Britain and China is what we do during lunchtime.
Here in China, workers have longer lunch breaks, which gives them enough time to take a short nap. So Chinese people usually use lunchtime to rest. I often see office workers rest their heads on their desks. The room turns into a quiet “bedroom”. Once, I even saw workers in a restaurant taking short naps as well. This is also very common for students in China. After lunch, they will go back to their dormitories (宿舍) or classrooms to take a nap. Chinese people believe a short nap at noon can help them feel more energetic in the afternoon.
In Britain, this activity is quite uncommon. British students usually have a one-hour lunch break. Instead of napping, they fill that time by playing sports or talking with friends.
Most workers in Britain don't get the chance to nap. They generally have short lunch breaks-between 30 minutes to an hour. There is not enough time to have a nap. Because of the shortness of their lunch breaks, it is common for people to work through lunch or just finish their lunch at their desk.
【1】What does the writer often do after lunch?
A.Sleeps or docs some reading. B.Talks with friends or sleeps.
