However, a recent study in the U.S. examined the influences of having a “higher purpose” on health. 136,265 people took part in 10 different studies, mostly in the United States and Japan.

“Giving life a higher purpose has long been an important way of life. Now the findings further prove that they may help people to look after their health and bring them a sense of well-being.” said Dr. Alan Rozanski, one of the authors of the study and members of the research team.
