Watching animations is a childhood memory for every generation (一代人), but the shows are different over time.
Some animations not only allow us to enjoy classics from different times, but also give us a taste of Chinese culture. From the story to visual effects (视觉效果), they have a real Chinese flavor.
The story The Legend of Sealed Book (《天书奇谭》) comes from Chinese legends. Yuangong, who comes from heaven (天庭), finds a book with amazing tricks and lets the boy Dansheng practice them.
“Unique (奇特的), funny and beautiful”— these are what the artists worked hard for at the time. They borrowed cultural elements from traditional opera and painting. The looks of many characters come from Peking Opera face makeup, showing their personalities. Lovely Dansheng looks like wawasheng, roles for kids in Peking Opera. A cunning (狡猾的) fox wears huadan makeup to make her more attractive. Huadan is the young female role in Peking Opera.
Customs like walking on stilts (踩高跷) and lion dancing are shown vividly (生动地). Animation artists painted in both realistic and poetic (诗意的) styles. Simple and thin lines are used to paint characters, while the ink wash painting style was used for mountains, trees and water.
Another animation, Little Tadpole Looking for Mummy (《小蝌蚪找妈妈》) was totally drawn with ink and brush. The designers learned from the great artist Qi Baishi. The black tadpoles, pink lotus flowers, yellow chickens and red goldfish … all come to life!
“Classic Chinese animations show us how colorful and rich our cultures are. I want to show respect to the artists who made them!” said actor Li Zonghan at a preview (提前放映) of Legend of Sealed Book.

Liu Yaxuan is totally a homebody. Every weekend, this14-year-old student from Tsinghua High School watches popular TV dramas like The Journey of Flower(《花千骨》) and plays with her mobile phone. She hates playing outdoor sports. "It's too tiring," she said.
She is not alone. In recent years, more and more Chinese teenagers are becoming homebodies. A 2013 survey of kids aged 2 to 14 showed about half of them spend less than one hour doing outdoor activities every day.
To some extent, heavy academic pressure (学业压力) caused this phenomenon(现象). Hu Huilan, 12, from Shenzhen Nanshan Language School, is busy with piles of homework and extra classes on weekends. "I don't want to get behind," she said.
Even if this isn't a problem, kids still prefer indoor life. Wang Yidi, 12, from Anhui No. 50 Middle School, often reads Harry Potter: listens to music and-surfs the Internet at home. "I can do so many things I like at home rather than hang out in smoggy(雾霾的) weather," she said.
But this causes bad health conditions. Chinese teenagers' physical conditions have been declining (下降) for more than 25 years, reported People's Daily last year.
The situation for foreign students is quite different. Zhang Yingke, 15, from Unionville High School in Toronto, Canada, says her peers are not homebodies at all. "They spend their free time outdoors even if it just means going to the park or reading a book under the tree. Nice weather, little homework and rich outdoor activities enable us to do that," she said. After being there for four years, she has fallen in love with running and playing tennis. "It helps me stay energetic,” she said.

26、 Language students often think they have memory problems. They worry because they can't remember words. In fact, the problem usually isn't with their memory. The problem is with how they study.
To remember words better, you need to understand how memory works. There are two kinds of memory: short-term and long-term. When you see, hear, or read something, it goes first into short-term memory. But short-term memory lasts for only a few seconds. You will only remember something longer if it goes into long-term memory. Your long-term memory is like a very big library with many, many books. And like a library, it's organized .When you put away a book - or memory - you can’t just leave it anywhere. You have to choose a place where you can find it again.
How can you do this with vocabulary? The answer is to work with the word and think about the word in new ways. You can do this by writing new sentences that include it. Even better, you can invent a little story about the word, with people or places that you know. Another way is to make a picture in your mind with the word. For example, if the word is "height", you can think of the tallest person you know and try to guess his or her height. All of these activities are good ways to think about words. They make the meaning of words stronger in your long-term memory. And they give a way to find a word when you need it.
【1】In the writer's opinion, students can't remember words because_____.
A.they have memory problems B.they are too worried
C.they don't use a proper way D.they don't like to study
【2】Which is TRUE about memory according to the passage?
A.Short-term memory is seldom used.
B.What we see goes into long-term memory first.
C.We will forget a word soon if it goes into short-term memory.
D.We will never forget a word if it goes into long-term memory.
【3】The underlined part in Paragraph 2 means long-term memory____.
A.keeps many books like a large library B.works like a well-organized library
C.provides any book you want D.leaves memory anywhere
【4】This passage mainly tells us about_____.
A.language students' problems in study B.how to make the meaning of words stronger
C.short-term and long-term memory D.how to improve ways to remember words
27、The junior high school graduates have to take a P.E. test in many places around China. The full marks are usually 30 points and it counts for much in the senior high school entrance exam.
In Nanjing, the test is held in April. Students have the test in their own schools. Each student is tested on three sports. They can choose long jump, basketball dribbling(运球) or volleyball. The pull-up is for boys and girls can choose the sit-up. Both boys and girls must skip in the test.
Most students find the test easy and more than 90%of them can get full marks. That’s because they have been training for it during the three whole years. Students in Junior Three usually do lots of practice in P.E. classes. The training makes the test easier than it seems to be.
Students in Nanjing don’t need to run a lot for the test, but students in Beijing must do lots of running for the test. Running is one of the sports in test. So in P.E. classes, they usually run a lot. Sometimes they have to run 3,000 meters in one class. Most teachers and parents welcome the P.E. test. They say it helps students build up their health.

28、 A good memory is often seen as something that comes naturally, while a bad memory is something that cannot be changed.
In fact, there is a lot that you can do to 【1】 your memory. Here are some tips for you.
◆Take an interest.
We all remember the things we are interested in, and always forget the ones that bore us. This explains the reason why schoolboys remember football results 【2】 but struggle(挣扎)with dates from their history lessons!
Develop an active interest in what you want to remember. One way to make 【3】 more interested is to ask questions-the more, the better!

The following numbers would be impossible for most of us to remember: 1492178919318483. But look at them in “【5】” or “chunks” repeatedly and it becomes much easier:149 217 8919 318 483.
◆Invent a story.
To remember long lists, try inventing a story which includes all the things you want to remember.
In experiments, people were 【6】 to remember up to 120 words using this way. When they were tested later, they could remember 90% 【7】 them. The test result was really amazing!
◆Take physical exercise.
Physical exercise is important for your memory, 【8】 it sends more oxygen (氧气) to your brain, and that makes your memory work better.
Exercise also lowers stress. As we know, too much pressure is very bad for the memory.

Technology is a double-edged sword (双刃剑). Liu Haoxuan, 13, used to spend all of his free time on his mobile phone. As a result, his ________ went down and he often failed the exams.
