BBC World Have Your Say: “ Life in China”

Every day, BBC News on TV,radio and online brings you stories from across the world. But what we want to hear are the stories that matter to you.

Have got a story about life in China today? If you do, please put your stories here.

I like travaling and I have traveled a lot around China. During the trip, I often find that a number of Chinese don’t have good pulic manners(举止). They always talk loudly on the phone and smoke everywhere. The worst is that they often break the rules in public. For example, when I travled in HongKong in January this year, I saw a kid eating noodles on the underground , which is against the rules. However, the kid’s mother didn’t think he did wrong. Can you believe it? Let’s improve our public manners. (Mike, Shenzhen)

I am a 14-year-old boy from a poor village in Fuyang , Anhui Province. Like many other left-behind children(留守儿童)in China, I live with my grandparents now. my father went to work inn Shanghai several years ago. Last year, my mother went there to care for him because his health is not as good as before. They tell me to listen to my grandparents and call me about twice a month to ask about my study. I really miss my parents and I hope I can afford to go to school in Shanghai. I think every child needs parents’ love and care. (Wu Peigen, Anhui Province)

  • 28、Being a youth is one thing, and being a good one is another. A good youth should have these qualities: F1of all, health, a healthy body is the best wealth. Without it, n2can be done well. If you are poor in health, you’ll have to take m3day after day. Even you can’t work, do sports and so on; Secondly, one must be of good quality. Always do something for others. Help those in trouble and c4about the people around you. If everyone did the same, what a w5world this would be! Thirdly, one must have the ability to work with others. Cooperation and communication are two important k6to better human relationship. Everyone needs friends b7no one can live through life alone or do everything he wants to.

Besides the examples above, patriotism(爱国主义) is the one we should never forget. Patriotism means a love of one’s country. It is one of the h8qualities of human’s. Everyone should love his own country. But people sometimes think that patriots(爱国者)must be fighters or that they live in a time of f9for their country. That is wrong. A good youth’s work is not only fighting. A good youth will do the things his country asks him to do.

I think a good youth of today should also have some training in a10. If everyone can enjoy art and be able to make more of it for others, then people will live better and enjoy more.
