26、Is it possible to learn too much? With so much information that’s available and accessible with just a click of a button, it’s impossible for any person to know everything there is to know. While this is true, there is still such a thing as learning too much, to the point where you get paralyzed in terms of taking action.
Have you ever wanted to achieve a goal and ended up doing tons of research on how to achieve the goal? As you learned more and more, it felt like you knew less and less because when you learned a new concept or strategy, you found that there was a lot more to know about those things.
Often times, people will get stuck in this trap of needing to gather more and more information. There’s nothing wrong with learning a lot, but when you let learning get in the way of doing, you will never get going. When you never get going, you still never start having the things you want in life.
A better way to go about achieving a goal is to gather some information and immediately start taking action on what information you have gathered. I realize that many times you will feel unprepared, and that’s okay. The best way to learn besides having someone who’s done what you want to do show you how to do it is to take action and learn from the results you get from those actions.
If a baby wanted to learn how to walk, it will never be able to do it by sitting there and analyzing how to walk. The best way for a baby to walk is to actually get up off its behind and start walking. Sure it may fall, but with every fall, it will learn what is working and what is not and adjust to it. By doing this over and over, it will eventually learn to walk. This is the approach you want to take when you want to achieve your goals as well. It works.

27、 Along the coast of Cornwall, the UK, by the white beaches near St Austell, a superhero stands tall. What is this superheroes weapon of choice? She has two, actually: in one hand, a large recycling bag, and in the other, a heavy-duty litter picker.
Meet Pat Smith, the 71-year-old eco-warrior (环境卫士) also known as “Action Granny”. Pat set herself a task to clear the plastic from 52 beaches in Cornwall and Devon. The former teacher jumped into action after watching a film called A Plastic Ocean, which described the range of plastic pollution damaging the world's oceans and killing sea life.
“It was really life-changing for me,” says Pat. “Until that point, I hadn’t realized there was a problem with plastic in the ocean. I went home from the theater and was really bothered. We have been consuming so much plastic that we are causing an ocean crisis. I said to myself ‘I’ve got to do something about it.’”
From January 1 until December 31, 2018, Pat cleaned one beach every week. Yet even with the year over and her task completed, she hasn’t stopped. Pat is also picking up litter — and so are her children in the playground, “My daughter-in-law said last week that she had organize a lifter-picking activity in the playground with other children. That just shows you that when people are exposed to what you do, they are very likely to follow in your footsteps.”
Joining Pat today is Marta, a research fellow at the Basque Center for climate Change, who has travelled from Spain to Cornwall to show support for Pat's action. She also explained her intention of cooperation to Pat. As an environmentalist herself Marta knows how important it is to work hand in hand, and she would like to show her sincerity.

28、Forgiving doesn’t mean saying the pain didn’t matter or what the other person said or did was OK. It doesn’t mean forgetting what happened. It means letting go of your need for an apology. It means making peace with past hurt and pain. It means choosing to move on. All of this is easy to say, hard to do. 【1】
Take your feelings seriously. Cry, feel sad, throw thigs hard, or write angry passages in your diary to get rid of some of the stress. Talk with trusted friends or family to ask for advice to help find solutions to your problems. 【2】 But suffering these feelings over time does you great harm.
Make a difference in your life. I’ve seen that many miss the opportunity for getting back a good relationship with someone else because they just wait for the apology that may never come. Others stay stuck in anger long after the other person is out of their lives. 【3】 That may be forgiving or being the first to reach out to the other so that you can move on with your own life.
【4】 Although you may mainly blame the other person, it’s important to forgive yourself with positive self-talk. Feel certain that you can learn from this and move on. Tell yourself that you will survive this pain and that life will get better.
【5】 This doesn’t reduce your pain but may make what happened more understandable. Understanding doesn’t forgive hurtful behavior, but understanding can help to get rid of your anger and to forgive.
A.Try understanding the other.

One day, my husband Mike and I decided to climb Nippletop Mountains. Our friends Emily and Jane gladly joined us. They were experienced hikers (远足者) .
We set off in the morning. It took us less than five hours to get to the top. It was almost 1:30 p.m. We’d have to head down soon while it was still light.
A friendly young hiker waved to us. “Hey, want me to take your picture?” “Sure!” I said. Emily and Jane squeezed (挤) in next to us. Mike gave the hiker his Phone. He took a few pictures. We took a different path so we could get down before dark. It was harder but shorter.
We spaced ourselves apart so we wouldn’t fall on each other. I led the way, setting a fast pace. The trail grew steeper. Carefully I sidestepped down the slope (斜坡). A quarter mile down, I stopped and looked up the trail for the others. I couldn’t see them.
Then a scream broke the quiet. Mike! He must have fallen. I climbed up the frozen slope. Finally I saw him, his hands were seizing his right leg. My eyes went to his foot, which pointed the wrong way. I shouted, “What happened?” “I slipped on the ice,” he said.
“Don’t worry,” I said, searching into my backpack but found nothing for a broken bone. Moments later, my friends came cautiously down. Jane checked Mike’s ankle. “We need to fix it with sticks,” she said.
“Here, try this,” I said, handing over my hiking poles (杖). I took off one of my shirts. Jane fixed a pole to Mike’s leg. But there was no way the three of us could carry him down this mountain, I pulled out my cell phone and dialed 911. No signal (信号) .
“Can I help?” It was the guy who’d taken our picture at the summit. “My husband fell. He’s hurt, and I don’t have service here. “Take mine,” he said. “I got service near the top.” I’d have to leave Mike and climb higher to get service.
