The Mongol Derby, described by the organizers, as the world’s toughest horse endurance (耐力) race, began in 2009 as an event held every year but was cancelled in 2021 and 2022. Walker said he had gone to Mongolia to “give it a go” but realized that he stood a chance of winning after teaming up with Patrick Heffron, a competitor from Ireland. “The horses are quite wild. I got bucked (颠) off three times. I fell off in a hole,” he said. “You’re going along and you suddenly disappear. You have to hang on to your horse for dear life or it goes off.”
Heffron met Walker as they went out for the race. 27、In March 2020, a group of 16 strong elephants became international stars because of their starting long northern journey from Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province.
The group did not harm any people or animals during their long march, but caused chaos on farms. In December, a baby elephant was born.

There were many guesses about the reasons for the migration (迁徙) of the elephants. Some people thought the elephants appeared to be especially attracted to com, fruit and other crops. Others supposed that the elephants’ leader might simply be lost in the rich tropical region, which is home to about 300 other Asian elephants. But, in fact, there was no exact scientific explanation.
In order not to do any harm to the species, farmers and others were told to exercise maximum control when they met with them, while the government had ordered people to stay inside and not use firecrackers or other techniques to frighten them away. Less force was being used to keep them out of the city, like parking cars and some equipment to block roads and using food drops to attract them away.
More than 410 emergency response police, lots of vehicles and 14 drones had been used to monitor the group. In a recent Orange County School Board meeting, parents demanded that rest time be carried out in all local schools for all students. Though the cost may seem too high, it is cheap compared to the 55 million it costs to stay on the ISS (International Space Station). Besides, guests at the Voyager Station will be living in the greatest conditions.
“You’re going to have the top cooks making really good food,’’ Orbital CEO John Blincow told the Washington Post. “There’ll be two shows every night as well.” Visitors will also be able to take part in the activities that are not possible on Earth such as spacewalks which allows visitors to admire views of Earth and space.
If everything goes according to plan, the company plans to start work in 2026 and welcome the first visitors in 2027. “If you are eager to be among the first, you can pay an amount of money to save your place ahead of time,” added John Blincow.
