The girl, 9 years old, is named Wu Gangyun. She lives in a poor village in Yunnan Province. When she was 6 years old, her mom found she liked to watch dancing videos and imitated the actions. William Poundstone believes that he has unlocked the secret of how to succeed in an interview at Google in a new book, Are You Smart Enough to Work at Google?
Poundstone lists several of the brain teasers (脑筋急转弯) that are said to be used by Google interviewers, from “can you swim faster in water or in syrup (糖浆)?” to “how would you weigh your head?”
Poundstone told ABC News that any Google’s questions are open-ended on purpose. The interviewer’s goal is to see how the thinking process of the applicant (应聘者) works, and to test his or her creativity when solving problems.
