Mom had bought her new crayons at the beginning of school, but Mandy wanted the big box of 100 colours she had seen at the store. The crayons even had a sharpener in the box that would keep her crayons looking like new. They also had such great colours such as bright pink, lemon yellow, and jade green. Mandy went to her piggy bank and counted her money. She was $1.50 short. “Mom, is there anything I can do to earn some extra money?” asked Mandy. Mom thought for a minute and said, “Well, you could pull the weeds (杂草) from the flower beds. I can give you fifty cents for that.” “I still need S1.00,” Mandy thought to herself, Maybe I can walk the neighbour’ s dogs for a few days and earn S1.00.
