1、 If you are in Shanghai and want to throw away a cup of milk tea, be careful.1. From July.1st on, people in Shanghai have been required to sort garbage according to strict rules. Many other cities in China are planning to create similar garbage-sorting rules.
Why should we sort our garbage? 2. The answer lies in the increasing waste we are producing. Chinese cities produce over 200 million tons of waste each year, according to China Economic Net. Most of this waste is buried in landfills (垃圾填埋场), which may pollute water and soil. Moreover, we are running out of space for new landfills.
3 事实上,超过一半的废弃物可以被回收利用。Recyclable garbage can be made into new materials, while wet garbage can be used to make gas, heat and fertilizer (肥料). But in order to recycle efficiently, we need to sort our garbage.
Can't garbage-processing companies do the sorting job for us? They can.4. 但是这需要大量的工作并且花费大量金钱。5. Things will become much easier if each of us can sort our own garbage. Besides, the troublesome task of sorting might encourage people to produce less waste.

Since 1971, MFS has sent trained doctors all over the world to help people who have suffered from disasters, such as wars and illnesses. But why would doctors leave a comfortable life and a good pay to join MSF? According to Chris, the experience they have is a great help in their life. For example, if in the past, someone in Dad’s family had been arrested for stealing a horse, it would be ‘a skeleton in his family’s closet’. He really wouldn’t want any neighbor to know about it.”
“Why pick on my family?” Jessica’s father said with anger. “Your family history isn’t so good, you know. Wasn’t your great-great-grandfather a prisoner who was brought to Australia for his crimes?” “Yes, but people these days say that you are not a real Australian unless your ancestors(祖先) arrived as prisoners.” “Gosh, sorry I asked. I think I understand now,” Jessica cut in before things grew worse.
After dinner, the house was very quiet. Jessica’s parents were still quite angry with each other.
