Welcome to Boston University on such a beautiful Friday night.
My name is Yujing Cai, and I am a graduate from the Master of Mathematical Finance program. I come from Nanjing, China, one of the oldest cities in the world. Right now, my family is sitting somewhere over there. 45. They travelled across half of the earth to attend their daughter’s graduation ceremony. And they are watching me giving a speech in a language they don’t understand. Therefore, I am tremendously honored to share my perspective of 6 years at the Questrom School of Business.
46. The thing I always enjoyed doing was looking at the different country flags in the hall. Sometimes my friends and I even have silly competitions going on to see who knew more flags and it often amazed me how many different cultures and nationalities are represented in our community.
In the past 6 years here. 47. 我很自豪见证了我们学校的成长。 from School of Management to Questrom School of Business, and that our community is growing stronger and better each year, and this couldn’t have happened without the effort of everyone here to share, to inspire, and to embrace each other.

From smart-home security to self-driving cars, all the internet-connected devices（装置）in your life will be able to talk to each other at lightning-fast speeds. “5G is one of those signs, along with artificial intelligence（人工智能）, of this coming data age.” said Steve Koenig, senior director of market research for the Consumer Technology Association. The self-driving vehicle is a great emblem of this data age,and that is to say, it is a sign of time, because with one single task, driving, you have large amounts of data coming from the vehicle itself, and a variety of sensors（传感器）are collecting a lot of information to model its environment as it moves. It’s pulling in data from other vehicles about road conditions. It could be weather information, but also connected infrastructure construction（基础设施建设）. There’s lots of data behind that task, which is why we need high speed.
Augmented reality glasses（实境眼镜）and virtual headset haven’t yet broken the mainstream（主流）, but tech companies are joyfully betting that these devices will finally take the place of our smartphones. With 5G, that could actually happen. This is notable because companies such as Apple are reportedly developing AR glasses to give help-or perhaps even replace-smartphones.
Ericsson stated at February’s Mobile World Congress how smart glasses could become faster and lighter with a 5G connection,because instead of being weighed down with components, the glasses could depend on hardware for processing power.
But don’t get too excited. There’s still a lot of work to be done, including various ways to make sure the radios play nicely with hardware and infrastructure construction so 5G isn’t used only in big cities.

25、 When people think about the victory of the Chinese women's volleyball team at the 2019 World Cup, the name that first comes to our mind is probably Lang Ping, 59, one of China's greatest sports stars and coaches. She plays so fiercely that people call her “Iron Hammer (铁榔头)”. Next year we will see a new film about her amazing story.
Born in Tianjin, Lang started playing volleyball for a local training team when she was in middle school. She trained especially hard. In 1978, she joined the national team.
At the 1981 World Cup in Japan, the Chinese women's team showed the world their speed and power for the first time. Playing outside hitter (攻手), Lang helped the team win the game. Later, the team got another World Cup, two world championships and even a gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles!
After 8 years of hard training and fighting, Lang finished her career as a volleyball player in 1986. But she never said goodbye to her favorite sport. In 1995, Lang became the head coach of the Chinese national team and led China to silver medals at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the 1998 World Championships in Japan.
In 2013, she returned to the young national team after working abroad as a coach for 14 years. The team finally came back to the top at the 2015 World Cup. The next year, at the Rio Olympics, things didn't go well in the very beginning. However, her team took home the gold medal at last, making her the first person to win an Olympic gold for volleyball both as a player and a coach. Lang once sard, "Sometimes the chance is slim, but you still have to pull out all the stops"
At that time, Lang got less than four hours' sleep a night. She spent her time thinking about how to beat the team's rivals (对手) and get the players to do their best. Her words and behaviors influenced younger players. Zhu Timg, the outside hitter, for example, went on fighting against Korea even when her leg was badly hurt.
“The spirit of Chinese women's volleyball team is to never give up. My duty as the coach is to guide this young team to carry on this spirit," said Lang. The players always work together and fight until the end in each game, no matter how difficult it is. The spirit is about more than sport. It also encourages people across the country to make China stronger.
