The year of Rabbit is coming. Maybe it’s the best time to talk about the lovely animal in the eyes of different culture. 1.让我们一起来分享一些关于兔子的有趣的事情吧。
In China
Rabbits are quiet but smart, which is shown by the Chinese expression “dongru tuotu”. The fairy tale about Jade (玉) Rabbit living on the moon is spread widely. Another fact is that rabbits can give birth to many baby rabbits at a time. 2 .So in ancient China, it’s common sense that the more children you had, the luckier you would be. The belief made the rabbit a popular symbol of good luck.
In the West
In the West, rabbits are regarded as a kind of lucky animals. 3. If a hunter can catch a rabbit, it’s also a sign of good luck. Another tradition for good luck found in North America and the UK is to say the word “rabbit” on the first morning of every month. 4 .Rabbits also show up in other areas of western culture. It’s a rabbit that Alice follows in the story of Alice in Wonderland. Rabbits are related to Easter. Although the animal appears in many different places, it’s always seen as an animal to be welcomed.
So with it now being the lucky animal’s turn on the Chinese zodiac (生肖),5.我们相信兔年也会给你带来运气和幸福。

One day, he gave me a cup of water and asked me to taste it. I found it salty. My father said he just put one small spoonful of salt in the cup. And then, he led me to a lake, where he scattered a big handful of salt into the lake, scooped up (舀起) a spoon of water and let me taste it again. He asked, “Does it still taste salty?” “Not at all,” I said. My father said, “Now, you may know the reason for your pain: you are just a cup of water, but not a lake. To be a lake and you won’t feel miserable any more.”
I came to understand my father’ motives: That I feel miserable is because my heart is as small as a cup of water without great dreams as a lake.

25、A local store is remodeling (改造), but not one of the changes is good for those of us who shop there. The passages (通道) have been changed with some going in one direction and others going in another. The passages have been pushed closer together, making it harder to get through them. All of the goods have been moved from their usual places as well.
It seems that all of these changes have been for the purpose of slowing the shoppers down so they will spend more time shopping and make more buys.
As I walked through the store today, no one was smiling and everyone was unhappy about it. The change that mostly let me down, however, was in the check-out passages. Only a few cashiers (收银员) were left working with most sections being changed into self-service check-outs. It saddened me to see this. I knew that people were probably going to lose their jobs because of this change.
I got in a cashier passage and patiently waited when I saw some other people trying to learn how the self-service machines worked. At that moment I decided not to use one even though I had to wait longer every time I shopped there.
When I finally arrived at the front of the passage, I saw the cashier was someone I knew.
I asked her how her family was doing. She answered me with a warm and kind smile that deeply touched me. We talked happily when she bagged up my goods. I felt a friendship and connection with her that warmed my heart.
Machines can do a lot for us, but there are many things they can’t do. They can’t smile. They can’t love. They can’t touch a heart. Only we can do that. Only we can make life worth living. So it is time for us to realize that money isn’t more important than people, and machines aren’t more important than us. It is time for us to go out and communicate with others as much as possible.
【1】How have the passages of the store been changed?
A.They have become longer.
B.They have become narrower.
C.They have been built in a modern style.

【3】Which of the following is true according to the passage?
A.The writer spent most of his time shopping.
B.The writer waited for a long time to check out.
C.The cashier will not work for the store in the future.
D.Many people used the self-service machines happily.
【4】Why did the writer get in a cashier passage?
A.Because he didn’t want to use the self-service machines.
B.Because he would never shop there.
C.Because he had a lot of time.
D.Because the cashier gave him a warm and kind smile.
【5】What can we learn from the last paragraph?

B.The world will be better with machines.
C.Money is the most important thing for us.
D.we should have more contact with each other in the world.
