24、
While walking outside one morning, I saw the most beautiful thing. It was early, and I was walking on dewy(带露水的)grass down to the office. Suddenly a flash came out straight from the ground, about 15 feet in front of me, and shot up into the sky. I stopped. ① What could make such a bright light? Could it be a diamond(钻石)?I waited to see if it would repeat, but it didn't.
I walked slowly toward it, but saw nothing. I looked down at the grass, searching for gold or some kind of metal - again, nothing. ② Suddenly, I saw it. The rising sun hit the grass' dewdrop(露珠)at the perfect way, sending great light into the sky. It was as if I had just discovered a tiny new world and it was just the unseen world that was giving me a heads-up, "Hello, look at what's around you," it said. I've never forgotten that moment.
So next time you're out, take some time to notice nature, whose beauty most of us never even see. Look at the beautiful colors and different small flowers that cover playing fields—we walk all over them without a second look. ③ Watch a bee dancing, or tiny ants going on their way, or birds singing in the sky. All of these natural living things are amazing—if only we took the time to notice them.
Have an eye for nature, and you'll find a new secret each day to keep in your heart. ④__ It's one of the most wonderful things I've ever done.

25、Tea, High Tea and Afternoon Tea
What are the differences among tea the drink, tea the meal, high tea and afternoon tea?
Tea the drink
Tea the drink is made from the processing of making teas. The basic teas are also often mixed with other plants like vanilla, mint and melon.
Tea the meal
Tea the meal on the other hand includes tea the drink as an important part, but mainly refers to social and family get-together. Generally speaking, the tea meal became popular in England first, but spread to English speaking countries, where tea meals are also held in many different forms.
Afternoon tea
Afternoon tea(or Low tea)is a light meal eaten at 4:00 pm. It also comes from Britain, though most British people no longer eat such a meal nowadays.
Traditionally, loose tea would be put in a teapot with milk and sugar, together with various sandwiches(with cucumber, egg, tuna, ham, and smoked salmon), scones(with butter, cream and jam)and cakes. Usually, the tea and food would be put on a low table.
While afternoon tea used to be an everyday event, nowadays it is more likely to be served in a hotel, café, or tea shop, although many British people still have a cup of tea and a piece of cake or chocolate at teatime.
High tea
High tea is an early evening meal, typically eaten between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. It would take the place instead of both afternoon tea and the evening meal. The term comes from the meal being eaten at the “high”(main)table. It is now largely replaced by the later meal.
In recent years, “high tea” has become a word for exquisite(精致)afternoon tea. Actually, such usage is wrong. High tea is not the same as afternoon tea.
Main evening meal
Tea is the main evening meal, even if people are not drinking tea. It is traditionally eaten at 5 o’clock in the evening, though often it is later, as late as 9 pm. So, in some farming areas of the UK, tea as a meal is equal to dinner in Standard English.

27、When you watch 3D movies or TV,you have to wear a special pair of glasses. The 3D glasses make the images from the screen look like they are there in the room with you.
Three-dimensional,or 3D,means having three dimensions(维度) : width, height and depth.3D technology(技术) is based on the way the human brain(大脑) and eyes work.Because thepupilsof a person's eyes are about 6.5era apart(分开),when we look at something, each eye sees it from a different angle(角度).Our eyes send the two images to our brain, and the brain puts them together. The small difference between the image from the right eye and the image from the left eye allows us to see depth.
When we view pictures and television in two dimensions, each eye gets the same information. That is because the image has no real depth, and there is only one of viewing it.So the goal of 3D technology is to get a different image into each of the viewer. It uses two film projectors. One projects a left eye image and the other projects a right image. The 3D glasses allow us to see a different image in each eye.
While watching 3D films,we feel that we are in the same environment as the things we're watching. However,it also has its disadvantages. The 3D glasses work by controlling the amount of light that reaches the eyes.It makes the screen look darker. What's more, people with eye problems may get headaches if they spend too much time watching 3D movies, because their brains need to work harder to "read" the images.
