21、Yang Le Ge Yang, which roughly translates to “Sheep A Sheep” is a new game available on WeChat’s mini program and has gained national popularity in the past few
This sheep-based passthrough mini-game was developed by a Chinese start-up, Beijing Jianyou Technology, which boasts that “no more than 0.1% of players can get through all levels” in the game’s introduction, with the second level being the most difficult to pass, according to eager players who have already taken the challenge. This has aroused the desire to win among many other young users, resulting in this Internet fever.
The game allows those who turn into a sheep to change their skin covers after a successful match, and its comic-like art design coupled with earworm background music has become another appeal to China’s Gen Z users.
The game creates a strong sense of belonging by categorizing players based on the provinces they are from, motivate individuals to win and bring honor to their regions. In addition, game tools are another traffic driver as users are encouraged to share the game on social media in exchange for desired tools to aid their play, which has furthered its digital reach.
Although the game is free to play, game equipment plays a crucial role in bringing profit for the developer through its close ties to advertising. Users also have to watch in-app advertisements to win more powerful tools to get rid of obstacles in the matching process.
“The popularity of Sheep A Sheep indicates a consumer appetite for Hard Fun, (difficult to win) style content in China,” said Liao Xuhua, cultural consumption analyst at the industry research institute Analysis.
However, concerns have also arisen around the sustainability of this hyped(炒作的) game, due mainly to its low bar entry and low development cost. This allows copycats to soon follow, which has been proven by many similar mini-games.

【2】How does the developer of the game make profit according to the article?
A.By charging the users for playing the game.

D.By calling for more people to participate in the game.
【3】What conclusion can we draw from the last but one paragraph?

22、Is it possible to persuade mankind to live without war? War is an ancient practice which has existed for at least six thousand years. It was always bad and usually foolish, but in the past, the human race managed to live with it. Modern cleverness has changed this. Either man will end the existence of war, or war will end the existence of man. For the present, it is nuclear weapons (核武器) that cause the most serious danger, but bacteriological or chemical weapons may, before long, offer an even greater threat. If we succeeded in ending the existence of nuclear weapons, our work will not be done. It will never be done until we have succeeded in ending war. To do this, we need to persuade mankind to look up on international problems in a new way not as contests of force, in which the victory goes to the side which is most skillful in killing people, but by settling in accordance with(与、、、一致) agreed rules of law. It is not easy to change very old mental habits, but this is what must be attempted.
There are those who say that the acceptance of this or that ideology (意识形态) would prevent war. I believe this to be a big mistake. All ideologies are based upon dogmatic statements (强词夺理) ,which are, at best, doubtful, and at worst, totally false. Their supporters believe in them so deeply that they are willing to go to war in support of them.
The movement of world opinion during the past few years has been very largely such as we can welcome. It has become a common place that nuclear war must be avoided. Of course very difficult problems remain in the world, but the spirit in which they are coming nearer to is a better one than it was some years ago. It has begun to be thought, even by the powerful men who decide whether we shall live or die, that negotiations(谈判) should reach agreements even if both sides do not find these agreements wholly satisfactory. It has begun to be understood that the important struggle nowadays is not between different countries but between man and the atom bomb(原子弹).
【1】This passage implies(暗示) that war is now_______.
A. worse than in the past

【3】According to the writer,_______.
A. war is the only way to solve international arguments

23、 In a world where nearly 6 million fingerprint records of government employees are stolen in one computer hack, and here millions of people are victims of identity theft every year, the next step in cybersecurity may well be mapping your brain.
Researchers at Binghamton University, State University of New York are working on a biometric system that records how your brain reacts to certain images. With a little more polishing, the scientists’ brainchild could become the way you get into a safe deposit box, your office or past scanners at the airport. It could replace the password for your online banking, your email or your social media accounts.
The started their project by measuring the brain waves of 30 subjects, The subjects were fitted with a cap that had 30 electrodes attached to it, and then shown various images and symbols—celebrity faces, words, pictures of food—on a computer screen in 200- millisecond bursts. The brain's reaction was recorded.
The idea is that every time a person needs to use a “password”, he or she goes through the same procedure, and the results are matched with their first-time reaction. If the “brainprint”' is compromised—like what happened with the fingerprint records—then the system is merely reset by running another set of images and collecting a different set of brain waves. “Even if that was stolen, you could just cancel it and record one to something else”, says professor Laszlo.
Laszlo and her team have shown that their system can be 100 percent accurate. So one of the more difficult parts of making the system practical already has been overcome. Now they're spending much time recording accurate brainprints with as few as three electrodes, which could make recording in the future as easy as wearing a pair of special glasses. They're also working with cheaper material and methods to see if they can bring the cost down.
【1】What does the underlined word “brainchild” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.The brain function. B.The fingerprint record.
C.The biometric system. D.The online password.
【2】Why were the images and symbols shown to the subjects?
A.To create their brainprints. B.To check the brain's reaction.
C.To match brainprints with pictures. D.To connect brain waves to electrodes.
【3】What are the researchers doing with the program now?
A.Making it user-friendly. B.Improving its accuracy.
C.Recording more brainprints. D.Increasing the number of electrodes.
【4】Which's the best the title of this passage?
A.Brain waves—the necessity of passwords B.Biometric systerm—the hope of cybersecurity
C.Brainprint—the future of passwords D.Fingerpint—the challenge of cybersecurity
24、 Countries are failing to take the action needed to stave off the worst effects of climate change, a UN climate report has found, and the commitments made in the 2015 Paris agreement will not be met unless governments introduce additional measures as a matter of urgency.
New taxes on fossil fuels, investment in clean technology and much stronger government policies to bring down emissions are likely to be necessary. Governments must also stop subsidizing (补贴) fossil fuels, directly and indirectly, the report said.
Greenhouse gas emissions continued their long-term rise last year, according to the report, but they could be brought under control. There are promising signs, such as investment from the private sector in renewable energy and other technologies to cut carbon, but these are currently insufficient to meet scientific advice.
Global emissions have reached what the UN has called "historic levels" of 53.5 gigatonnes(十亿吨) of carbon dioxide equivalent, and are showing no signs of peaking, despite a leveling off in the past decade.
Joyce Msuya, deputy executive director of UN Environment, said: "The science is clear: for all the ambitious climate action we've seen, governments need to move faster and with greater urgency. We're feeding this fire, while the means to extinguish it are within reach. "
Last month, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC) warned of the dire effects of allowing global warming to reach 1.5℃ above pre-industrial levels. The world has a little over a decade to bring down greenhouse gas emissions before such dangerous levels of warming become inevitable.
Only 57 countries, representing 60%of global greenhouse gas emissions, are on track to cause their emissions to peak before 2030.If emissions are allowed to rise beyond that, the IPCC has said countries are likely to breach the 1.5℃ limit, which will trigger sea-level rises, droughts, floods and other extreme weather events.
According to the Paris agreement, the first global pact to bind both developed and developing countries to a specific temperature goal, governments must do all they can to stop warming reaching 2℃ above pre-industrial levels, with an aspiration to limit warming to no more than 1.5℃.
Jian Liu, the chief scientist at UN Environment, said some of the necessary policies were clear and available, if there was political will to implement them. "When governments embrace fiscal(财政的) policy measures to subsidize low-carbon alternatives and tax fossil fuels, they can stimulate the right investments in the energy sector and significantly reduce carbon emissions. If all fossil fuel subsidies were phased out, global carbon emissions could be reduced by up to 10% by 2030."
【1】Which of the following ideas is NOT included in the UN climate report?

B.Immediate fire-fighting measures should be taken to keep the fire under control.
C.We are making climate efforts but the achieved effects can be easily reversed.
D.To reduce emissions, we need to close down the fossil-fuel-powered plants.
【3】Which of the following statements is True according to the Paris agreement?
A.It is desirable for humanity to limit the temperature rise within 1.5℃.
B.Countries need to control the temperature rise within 2℃ above prehistoric level.
C.Developed and developing countries are bound by their own temperature goals.
D.Disastrous climate change will be irrecoverable if we exceed the 1.5℃ limit.
【4】What does the word "dire" mean in paragraph 6?
