21、The two sessions in Beijing are the talks of the town in China now. The annual session of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC, 中国人民政治协商会议) started on May 21. The annual session of the National People’s Congress (CNPC, 全国人民代表大会) started on May 22.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, some changes took place for this year’s two sessions. Online communication is used for public health, as well as smooth (顺利的)communication for the meetings.
For example, the CPPCC National Committee’s new online platform has been used to collect opinions and suggestions from netizens since May 8. This helped CPPCC members learn more about public opinions before they gathered in Beijing, China Daily reported.
Each year, the heads of different kinds of State Council departments sit in on meetings during the two sessions to hear different views on the government’s work. 23、The Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen was born in 1805 and died at the age of 70. He was born in a poor family in the Danish town Odense. His father received an elementary school education and his mother was an uneducated washerwoman. He was a master (大师) of fairy tales (童话故事) in the 19th century.
