  • 22、The COVID-19 forced students to stay home in the past few months. Online learning became more common. But did students like it?

According to a report by China Youth Daily, Chinese high school students had the most positive attitude (积极的态度) toward online learning compared with those in the US and Japan. A total of 87.1 percent of Chinese students said online learning was “important”, higher than those of any of the other two countries.

However, the report added that students who study online were easily distracted (分心的). Some students always thought how fun it would be if they could play games on computers or mobile phones. Parents in the countryside had to work. They had no time to study with their children. And children had poor self-discipline (自我约束).

Students in all three countries also pointed out several worries, such as damage to their vision (视力), having to depend on the Internet and less independence (独立性) when asked to solve problems on their own.

Luckily, schools across China reopened. There is no need for students to have online classes. They can study at school with their classmates. What’s more, to make students keep healthy, schools will let students have at least two hours of outdoor activities a day, according to the National Health Commission.

    阅读下面一篇短文,判断文后各小题正(A)误(B)。

【1】Chinese students in high schools don’t like online learning.

【2】In Japan and the US, students also have online classes.

Be on your best behavior when you’re online

Having good manners is an important part of life. You know that you should never shout in public. But what about when it comes to the online world? When you use social media apps, like WeChat and Sina Weibo, you must also remember to mind your manners.

For example, sometimes I need to add a new friend on WeChat. But I haven’t met him or her yet in real life. So when I send them a friend request, I explain who I am and how I got their contact info.

Just like in real life, the key to keeping good manners online is to be thoughtful. But sometimes, people forget this.

One of my friends likes to send really long voice messages on WeChat. It is difficult to keep up with all his messages and remember everything. I think this is a bit bad!

There are many other things that you shouldn’t do on social media. Take a look and remember to do your best to be polite.

    · Don’t share your friends’ WeChat contact info with strangers. Ask your friend first before sharing.

    · Don’t add someone new to your group chat without asking the other members. They might not want new people to join the group.

    · If you use English, don’t use all caps. IF YOU TYPE LIKE THIS, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU’RE SCREAMING. DON’T DO IT.

    【1】We must________online.

    A.shout

    B.mind our manners

    C.mind our languages

    D.keep silent

【2】________is the key to keeping good manners online.

    A.To be mad

    B.Talking with everyone

    C.To be thoughtful

    D.Sharing information

【3】The author thinks receiving long voice messages is________.

    A.great

    B.exciting

    C.a little bad

    D.happy

【4】How many tips does the author give to us?

    A.Two.

    B.Three.

    C.Four.

    D.Five.

【5】If we want to share our friends’ WeChat contact info, we should________.

    A.ask our friend first

    B.share it directly

    C.give it to strangers

    D.add someone new

  • 24、   A cup of coffee is a good way for many people to start their day. It can also pass on kindness.

Manyang Kher used to be a Sudanese child refugee(难民). When he was three years old, his village was burnt in the war. He was separated from his parents and never saw them again. He became one of the 20,000 young Sudanese who had to leave their home for Ethiopia’s Gambella area. He lived there as a refugee for 13 years.

When he was 16, Kher went to the United States. While he was in college, he started a program to help the refugees. Now, he owns a coffee company (公司) called 734, which is a part of his program. The company has helped more than 200,000 refugees living in the Gambella area till now. Kher said, “I know the difficulties and pains they face every day. You see kids die from hunger. You see kids dying of illnesses. You see kids running away from the refugee camp to find a place to be home, but die on the way.”

Eighty percent of the money made by the coffee company is used to send more of the children to school. And, as Kher explains, the money helps refugees to help themselves. For example, a cup of 734 coffee can also buy one fishing net() for a refugee. They can fish for themselves.

Kher sells the coffee online and to coffee stores. Megan Murphy owns a coffee store in Washington, D.C. She serves 734 coffee in her store and people love it. The coffee tastes delicious, so it’s a win-win on both sides.

1Kher left his home when he was three years old because ________.

A.his parents opened a store B.his village was burnt in the war

C.he had to move to the US D.he lost his home in an earthquake

2Kher helps the refugees by ________.

A.making fishing nets B.offering coffee to them

    C.starting a program D.sending them back home

3We can infer from this passage that ________.

A.Kher sells his coffee both online and to coffee stores

B.you’re helping the refugees when enjoying 734 coffee

C.coffee from Megan Murphy’s store tastes delicious

D.Megan Murphy is one of the refugees in Gambella

七、短文填空 (共1题,共 5分)
  • 25、The undersea world is very beautiful. Now more and more people want to dive (潜水) in the water to find the secrets there. Scuba diving is a new sport today. It can take you into a 【1】 ['wʌndəfl] undersea world.

You will find many strange animals in the sea. Some are as large 【2】 a school bus. Many sea animals give out light in the dark and some have 【3】 [ʃɑːp] teeth.

During the day, there is enough light. Here, under the sea, everything is blue and green. When fish swim nearby, you can 【4】 [kætʃ] them with your hands. When you have 【5】 (bottle) of air on your hack, you can stay in deep water for a long time. However, you can’t dive too deep. And you must be very 【6】 (care) when you dive in deep water.

The deep sea is not an easy place to live in. It’s cold, and it’s dark, too. The deeper it is, the 【7】 (little) sunlight there is. At about 3,000 feet, there is 【8】 light at all, so it is very dark there.

Besides the cold and darkness, deep-sea animals face a 【9】 (three) danger — other animals.

Animals eat! They must find food to eat. Some animals eat 【10】 while some animals eat meat. This means these sea animals have two big jobs. They need to find animals as food, and they have to try not to become other animals’ meal.
