27、Dear Dad,
Today, I spent a lot of time selecting and reading the Father’s Day cards at the shopping mall. They all had a special message that in some way or another reflected how I feel about you. Yet it occurred to me that not a single card said what I really wanted to say to you.
You'll soon be 84 years old. Dad, and you and I will have had 55 Father's Days together. I haven’t always been with you on Father’s Day, but I’ve always been with you in my heart. You know, Dad, there was a time when we were separated by the generation gap(代沟). You stood on one side of the Great Divide and I on the other.
The Father-Daughter Conflict shifted into high gear(档位) when you taught me to drive the old Dodge while I decided I would drive the Chevy whether you liked it or not. To my surprise, when the police officer sent me home after you reported the Chevy stolen, you were so tolerant(宽容的) about it because I had thought that would probably be the worst night of my life.
Our relationship greatly improved when 1 married a man you liked, and things really turned around when we began making babies right and left. Somewhere along the line, the generation gap disappeared. I suppose I saw us and our relationship as aging together, rather like a fine wine.
But the strangest thing happened last week. I was at a stop sign and I watched as you turned the corner in your car. It didn’t immediately occur to me that it was you because the man driving looked so elderly and weak behind the wheel of that huge car. Perhaps I saw your age for the first time that day.
I guess what I’m trying to say, Dad, is what every son and daughter wants to say to their Dad today. Honoring a father on Father’s Day is about respect and sharing and acceptance and tolerance and giving and taking. It’s about loving someone more than words can say, and it's my wish that it never had to end.
I love you, Dad.
Love,
Jenny

28、 Ne Zha, the most successful film in the summer of 2019, has become the all-time highest-grossing (票房之冠) animation (动画) film in China. After the box-office success of Ne Zha, Yang Yu, the director of the film has risen to fame overnight.
Yang, who has himself struggled for more than 10 years in his career is somewhat of a real-life model for the main role in the film. Yang was born in a doctor’s family. As his parents thought a hospital job would be stable, Yang studied medicine in college. But his interest in animation changed his life. When most of his classmates chose to work as medical professionals after graduation, Yang stayed at home for three and a half years to make a short animation film. Yang recalls that period was like “living in a space station”, as his routine activities were limited in their small family apartment.
A turning point came in 2009, when Yang’s directorial debut (处女作), See Through, was quite a hit after it was released. The film got more than 30 awards at home and abroad.
The success inspired him to establish an animation studio in Chengdu, but in the following six years. Yang struggled to get help to fund an animation film. In 2014, Coloroom Pictures reached out to him for a film on the mythological (神话的) figure Ne Zha.
Hiring around 1,600 members from over 20 animation companies, the film took five years for production, with Ne Zha’s new screen image—a boy with ugly teeth and dark circles around his eyes. First, children's literature provides students with the opportunity to respond to literature and develop their own opinions about the topic.Quality literature allows for some differences in opinion. One reader may take something completely different away from the piece of literature than the next reader, based on the two personal viewpoints and experiences.
Besides, children's literature provides a path for students to learn about their own cultural heritage(遗产)and the cultures of other people. However, when teaching students about the cultural heritage of others, one should be very careful in selecting which books to recommend. There are stories which contain inaccuracies about certain cultural groups. However, there are also children's books that are more accurate in teaching the cultural differences of others.
Undoubtedly children's literature also helps students develop emotional intelligence.Stories have the power to promote emotional and moral development.Children's literature contains many moments of crisis(危机),when characters make moral decisions and consider the reasons for their decisions,an important skill for children to see modeled. It also encourages students to think deeper about their own feelings.
Children's literature also encourages creativity. It plays an important role in nurturing(培育) and expanding the imagination. For instance,The House in the Night describes the creativity a young girl has in her dreams at night,as she flies about the dark neighborhood on the wings of a bird.
Children's literature promotes the development of students internal imaginations. Children's literature should be attached importance to because it promotes personality and social development.Children are easily influenced by others, and children's literature can help them develop into caring, intelligent, and friendly people.Being able to understand other people's viewpoints and to not be selfish are important skills that adults must nurture in children. Children's literature can promote social development by encouraging students to accept other people and their differences, thus becoming considerate people and growing into quality citizens.
Finally, children's literature is invaluable in that it is a timeless tradition, one in which books are the major means of passing on our literary heritage from one generation to the next. For a younger audience, children can build their cognitive and language skills through exposure to Mother Goose rhymes.Children in older grades can learn to appreciate the classic plays and messages of William Shakespeare in picture books.Children are only young for a short time, and so we must give them access to a basic literary heritage of timeless books.Quality children's literature has the great power to attract audiences for many generations.

I was a mother of four children, working at a low-paid job. Money was always valuable, but we had a roof over our heads, food on the table, and clothes in the wardrobe. I always tell myself to be brave and strong. I hope all my efforts would be worthwhile, as long as my children can grow up healthily. It was Christmas time. We drove downtown to see the Christmas lights, and enjoyed a special dinner, but the big excitement for the kids was the fun of Christmas shopping at the mall. This was a tradition of my family, so they all looked forward to the coming of the season of goodwill. They talked and planned for weeks ahead of time, asking each other what they wanted for Christmas.
The big day arrived and we started out early. I gave each of the four kids a twenty -dollar bill and asked them to search for gifts. Then everyone scattered(分散开)with the bill. I sat at a table in a café waiting for my children and enjoying an instant of silence. It must be a happy day.
Back in the car driving home, everyone was excited about Christmas, laughing and asking each other about what they had bought. I noted Ginger, my younger daughter had only one small and flat bag with her. I could see enough through the plastic bag to tell that she had bought candy bars—fifty-cent candy bars! What did she do with that twenty-dollar bill I had given her? I was so angry. After getting home, I called her into my bedroom and closed the door. I couldn't hold back my anger and shouted at her, "What about the rest of the money? No one would be convinced all these candies are worth 20 dollars. What do you want to do with the rest of the money?"
