六、阅读理解 (共3题,共 15分)
  • 21、   It’s hard to make friends if you stay at home alone all the time. Get out of the house and do things that will put you in touch with other people. It’s easier to make friends when you have the same interests.

Don’t be afraid to show people what you are really good at. Talk about the things you like and do best. People will be interested in you if there is something interesting about you.

Look at people in the eyes when you talk to them. That way, they will find it easier to talk to you. If not, people may think you are not interested them and may stop being interested in you.

Be a good listener. Let people talk about themselves before talking about “me, me, me”. Ask lots of questions. Show your interest in their answers.

Try to make friends with the kind of people you really like ----not just with those who are easy to meet. Be friendly to a lot of people. If so, you will have a bigger group of people to choose(选择)from and have more chances(机会)to make friends.

    根据上述内容,判断下列句子正误,正确的在答题卡上将“T”涂黑,错误的在答题卡上将“F”涂黑。

1It’s easier to make friends if you get out of the house.

2If you show people what you are really good at, people will be interested in you.

3If you look at people in the eyes when you talk to them, they will find it easier to talk to you.

4To be a good listener, you should always talk about yourself.

5Try to make friends with just those who are easy to meet.

  • 23、   A wise man was visiting a village with his students. He found a group of family members shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his students and asked: “Why do people shout at each other?”

His students thought for a while, and one of them said: “Because when we lose our calm, we shout.”

“But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can just as well tell him what you have to say in a soft voice,” said the wise man.

Students gave some other answers but none were any good.

“When two people are angry at each other, their hearts become distanced(疏远的), ” the wise man explained. “To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the louder they will have to shout to hear each other and cover that great distance. ”

The wise man then gave an example: “What happens when two people fall in love?” They don’t shout at each other, but talk softly because their hearts are very close. When they love each other even more, what happens? They don’t need to talk. They only look at each other and that’s enough.

He looked at his students and said: “So when you argue, do not let your hearts get distant. Do not say words that distance you from others. Otherwise, there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.”

【1】What does the word They refer to?

    A.the two angry men

    B.the group of family members

C.the two people who fall in love

    D.the students

【2】One of the students thinks people shout at each other because ________.

    C.they lose their calm

D.they are far from each other

A.We shout to make us heard.

B.We shout because we lose our calm.

C.When two people fall in love, they talk softly.

D.When we argue, don’t let hearts became distant.

七、短文填空 (共1题,共 5分)
  • 24、Read the passage and fill in the blanks with proper words

My wife and I recently welcomed a child into the world. His only interest right now is keeping us awake 24/7. But one day, he’ll need to learn something about finance. When he does, here are some suggestions.

    1) You might think you want an expensive car, a fancy watch, and a huge house. But you don’t. What you want is respect and admiration from other people. You think having expensive stuff will bring it. It a【1】 never does-especially from the people you want to respect and admire you.

    2) The road to financial regret is paved with debt. Some debt, such as a mortgage, is OK. But most spending that results in debt is the equivalent of a drug: a quick hit of p【2】 that wears off, only to drag you down for years to come, limiting your options and keeping you weighed down by the baggage of your past.

    3) I hope you’re poor at some point. Not struggling, and not unhappy, of course. But there’s no way to learn the value of money without feeling the power of its scarcity. It teaches you the difference between n【3】 and desirable. It’ll make you learn to enjoy what you have, fix what’s broken, and shop for a bargain. These are essential survival skills.

    4) If you’re like most people, you’ll spend most of your adult life thinking, “Once I’ve saved/earned $X, everything will be great.” Then you’ll hit $X, move the goalposts, and resume chasing your tail. It’s a miserable c【4】. Your goals should be about more than money.

    5) Don’t stay in a job you hate because you made a career choice at 18. Almost no one knows what he or she wants to do at that age. Many people don’t know what they want until they’re t【5】 that age. (These are the signs you’re in the wrong career.)

    6) The best thing money buys is to control over your time. It gives you options and f【6】 you from relying on someone else’s priorities. One day you’ll realize that this freedom is one of the things that makes your truly happy.

    7) Some people are born into families that encourage education others are from families that are a【7】 it. Some are born into flourishing economies others, into war and poverty. I want you to be successful, and I want you to earn it. But realize that not all success is due to hard work and not all poverty is due to laziness. Keep this in mind when judging people, including yourself.

    8) Your savings rate has a little to do with how much you earn and a lot to do with how much you spend. I know a dentist who lives paycheck to paycheck, always on the edge of ruin. I know another person who never earned more than $50, 000 and saved a fortune. The difference is entirely due to their spending. Living with less is the most efficient way to control your financial future.
